Cringe rom-com!
Was excited for this one: a bookstore/cafe/gift shop! That‘s the dream! But it wasn‘t a straight forward romance; there were 3 heroines, and it was overall disappointing. But I suspect that my expectations played a big part in that.
For a light read, this was pretty good. I liked the theme of trusting in the power & support of girlfriends.
Finished this late last night for #SuperSeptember I really enjoyed it and exploring the relationships between the three women, who start as business partners but become friends and family to each other throughout the book. And, there‘s a minor character that I would love to see get his own story.
Three women decided to share their talents in this bookshop in California. The novel is about the lives of these women: Mikki, divorced, Ashley wants to marry but it seems her boyfriend has other plans and Bree who doesn‘t believe in permanent relationships. There will be drama to resolve all these family, couple, trauma issues, with support. There are some funny parts. It was okey but I liked it in general. Mikki‘s mother made me laughed. 3⭐️⬇️
A bit more depth than I expected. Overall a decent read.
Enjoying Alexia Gordon‘s Cozy Corner cozy mystery writer interview podcast as well. Booked on a Feeling and These Hollow Vows were so-so for me. All the other pictured titles were picks. Plenty of good reading overall.
The premise of three women who are interconnected was an interesting premise. Overall it was okay. Something was missing I couldn't put my finger on. Things were a but squirrelly switching back and forth. No big issues, just nothing that wowed. I admire Bree for her determination to get it together.

The Summer Getaway was wild with drama. I have come to like Mallery‘s womens fiction books, but this one had me saying wtf quite a bit. So much immaturity, the main character had issues (expected), the daughter had problems (which took an unexpected wild turn at the very end). The ex husband is a jackass, the bff is too whiny, etc. With that said it was well written and easy to read due to the high level of drama.
