A Little Life: A Novel | Hanya Yanagihara

A little bit late posting this list as I figured out how to wrangle the 12 photos into position but in no obvious order here are my #topreadsof2016. Congratulations to #AnnieProulx who made it in twice and "A Little Life" who unsurprisingly takes out book of the year even though it was published in 2015.

Here are my baby's #TopReadsOf2016. These are the books we read at least five times a day, the books he always picks out first to read, the books that once it's finished we have to start right over again. Luckily, with the exception of one book I don't mind reading all of them over and over and over and over....

Reviewsbylola My 4 yo goes for weeks where she literally only ones to read one particular book over and over. 😭 Right now, her favorite book is a long as story about Nala and Simba sneaking out of their cave at night. It is mind numbing reading the exact same thing multiple times a day. 😂😂 8y

#SeasonsReadings2016 I don't think I could begin to sort through my #TopReadsOf2016 . I had an original goal of 45, which I beat by a lot. I was hoping to get to 80 for a round number, but I ran out of time. I read a lot of incredible books this year and I hope to continue that into 2017!!

#topreadsof2016 - the best novels I read in 2016. Especially The Perks of Being a Wallflower hit me hard, and I still think about the book a lot ❤

The Temporary Bride: A Memoir of Food and Love in Iran | Jennifer Klinec

My top 4 non-fiction reads of 2016. I loved the Iranian travel and foodie theme of THE TEMPORARY BRIDE. So good! THE TIME IN BETWEEN was another amazing memoir about a young woman's battle with anorexia beginning in her preteens. Powerful! I also loved AN ABBREVIATED LIFE, which was so bizarre you'd think it was fiction. YOU'LL GROW OUT OF IT was a wonderful audiobook. Jessie made me laugh so hard! #nonfictionreads #topreadsof2016

The Signature of All Things: A Novel | Elizabeth Gilbert

If I had to pick top four fiction books of 2016, these would be it. I listened to THE SIGNATURE OF ALL THINGS, which was awesome! HOT LITTLE HANDS was such a great little book of short stories, some stories just heartbreaking! HOMEGOING was a great diverse, historical fiction read. And MIDDLEMARCH was by an amazing classic and my all time favorite for the year. #topreadsof2016
