See me. Admire me. Love me.
My hubby bought this for me on a recent business trip. I'm enjoying the short format love stories, but they all seem to be focusing on rather depressing elements of love. As a romance reader I keep hoping in vain for an HEA... 1/3 of the way in
Best spoiler alert ever. And I'd much rather read about this in a historical romance than IRL. #romantsy #osrbc
It's a love triangle that had me switching teams mid book and then wondering how the hell she was going to pull it off. But it works and it's totally believable. I can't wait for book 2 in the series. #teamryan #teamjude #canihavewhoeverisleft
One clicked based on the gorgeous cover and it did not let me go! American political setting layered over Arthurian legend, with a healthy dose of erotic kink woven throughout, it kept me up until 3 am. Def an Erotic romance, but the characters and relationships are so well done. There is a Dom/Sub pair and the discussions of consent that happen are so so good. I tends to dislike 1st pov and time hopping but this book needed them and it works.
I started this last night...silly, I know, and I could not put it down. I picked it up again this morning and ignored my children until I was able to finish it. I was completely pulled into this story, and I needed to know what happened next. Excellently crafted enemies to lovers plot, done in first person which I generally don't care for. Here it works and works well!
I remember getting to this realization myself. My house will never be the cleanest or the prettiest, but my children will know love and creativity within its walls. I remind myself of this often when I pick up a book instead of a laundry basket.
Oh my God! The MASSIVE Harlequin Sale might beggar me. I had no idea the Sons of Chance series went up to #16! But at $1.99 a book I might be persuaded... #harlequin #18000booksonsale #romantsy #osrbc #crazysauce
I've moved on to Red Lily. The ghost subplot felt appropriate for October. I love the way this trilogy tackles love at different ages and stages of life. #reread #romantsy
"Tiara, that's fancy for crown." #fancynancy #hicklebees Also the bell from Santa in Polar Express. Seriously this bookstore warrants a visit just for its amazing museum of book artifacts. (And a great selection of children's books sold by devoted and knowledgeable staff)
If anyone was looking for The One Ring, it's at #hicklebees. Along with Miss Rumphius' lupine seeds and Ralph's motorcycle helmet.
