Mehso-so

Ocean wrote a letter (more like a memoir) to his deceased mother. There were some great chapters that brought the emotions out but many other chapters were kind of dull. Many times I wondered the purpose of some of the stories and how it connected with his mom. It left me wanting to read more about his relationship with his mom instead of his lover.

I needed something easy after the last book I read, and this met my needs. Cute romcom with like-able characters! I love how they met, how often do you picture the person on the other end of the phone when you call a company/customer service/tech support?! Book #16 in 2023

I was expecting this novel would be like BlueBird, Bluebird duology but it was my fault as a reader nothing related with the author☺️The novel is set in a plantation that has been owned by different generations of white people. Now is operating as a tourist attraction and some employees are descendants from families that were slaves. But part of those lands should be inherited by those descendants⬇️

Gissy Now there are rumors about what will happen with the plantation after a murder was committed. By whom, why? Any connection between this murder, the past and the plantation? Caren, the plantation manager, discovered the body and will be involved to discover the truth.
The story has many interesting historical fiction/non fiction elements. It is a slow pace reading and I like Caren. Sometimes she put me on the edge with her decisions😳 3.8/4⭐️

Read at the beginning of January. I liked this type of stories where characters review their lives and try to amend, or find answer to those inner questions to be in peace with themselves. This story is something like that. I found Kirsten a little bit selfish, convenient at the beginning but then you can understand her. All these characters are dealing with different types of grief. Their stories will be connected. So pretty 4/4.5⭐️

#16 - Court of Wings & Ruin Ch 21 - 29

Feyre visits the Bone Carver to negotiate, wants the Mirror of Ouroboros in exchange. Mostly about gathering allies from each court for the upcoming war. I‘m in the middle section where a lot of what happens atm will be used/discussed during the major climax if the trend continues from the past two books. Elains state is about the same & Nesta‘s training has begun.

I read this novel long time ago. I forgot how terrible Mr Heathcliff was and how dysfunctional, violent, co-dependent these relations were. But thinking about the author, how brave she was to write in a novel about these topics was incredible and she was young. I think I need to re-read it in the future after maybe read more about the author. I will need, of course, another beautiful edition. I read the Thomas Nelson edition. 4⭐️

Tamra Love that edition & the novel! 5mo
Gissy @Tamra I have various titles from the same special edition. I decided that I will read some of my special editions, when I die, many years for that I hope😜🤣 books probably will end in the recycle bin or in a charity store that we don‘t have many here. They don‘t read or have the passion for books as I have🤷🏽‍♀️So now is the moment to appreciate those beauties😍I really enjoyed that novel with that terrible character. I‘m glad I re- read it🤗 5mo
