Reading last my bedtime 🌙
Book 2 read on September 2024
I have mixed feelings with this novel. Six classmates were invited for a dinner in honor to receive a scholarship. But then they are trapped in this place with three objects and a message indicating to pick someone to die.
I liked the premise and all the action in that closed room and I liked the ending. Sad the motive behind the action, sad that ending. But what I question is how everything was planned.⬇️
I'm not sure how this one got on my TBR because it's not something I would normally choose but I ended up really enjoying it! The dual timeline between when the kids are trapped in the room and then going back through the last year, discovering their secrets, was compelling. I didn't want to stop listening.

A great pick to get my out of my reading slump! It was a fast paced locked room mystery with lots of mentions about mental health executed very well. I finished it in 3 days as I couldn‘t put it down! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #library #youngadult #mentalhealth #5stars
Book 59🎧 3.5⭐️
A locked room mystery! Everyone has a secret and someone‘s a murderer…
6 scholarships winners are invited to a dinner. Except when they arrive, they realize they cannot escape. Who invited them and why? 💉🩸
Can the truth set you free?
Breakfast Club but add a bomb and syringe filled with poison. A pretty decent YA thriller.
This was a slow build to a fascinating ending. I liked how the author used the characters thought processes especially when it came to doing the right thing in the end. 💥💥💥💥💥👍#BookSpinBingo @TheAromaofBooks This takes my last free spot.
I like it when authors send you autographed items. It personalizes the reading experience. Books books books and more books. 🤩❤
Finally time to start Summer Reading. This is the first book that I have decided to begin for the season ahead ☀️. Also Happy Pride 🏳️🌈
This book just arrived from a friend. I can‘t wait to read it but I have to finish “The Midnight Library” first. lol
I have always loved the escape room games as a kid, and I LOVE escape room movies, so I absolutely had to read this book! It did not disappoint! I loved this book so much, it was very well written. I was 50/50 on who done it, so it was still half a surprise. This book went back and forth from the time before to now, I usually get bored with the before, but the before only held information relevant to the now, so it made it very interesting! 5/5
Our book club enjoyed discussing this one! We were definitely split on the ending, so it made for a very spirited and heated Zoom chat!
Keeps you on the edge of your seat! Six high school seniors are locked together in a room -obviously by someone with a grudge - and told they have one hour to pick one of them to kill, or else they will all die.
I liked watching these characters slowly reveal themselves as the plot unfolded. I wanted to murder some of them myself. There was a few points where I felt reality was stretched a little beyond the believable, but overall, the mystery kept me guessing and turning those pages quickly. The ending was phenomenal.
Guessed pretty early on the thing at the end, but that didn‘t take away from my enjoyment. Very engaging, didn‘t want to atop listening.
I‘ve really been enjoying thriller/suspense books lately. This one is no exception.
Six teens are trapped in a room and have to decide which one of them will die. Secrets come out. Mind games are played. Flashbacks are had by all.
Overall I enjoyed most of this book. There was a few writing issues that took me out of the story like certain descriptions of sounds characters would make would be used multiple times. In the beginning it was also hard to keep track of which character was which. This story took a turn for the bad towards the end. It reminded me heavily of one of us is lying. I really disliked the ending but the book keep me reading so it gets points there.
While not quite the same caliber, if you like Karen McManus, this book is worth giving a try. It started with a bang, but somewhat predictable characters and implausible storylines give it only three stars for me.
Thank you #Beaconbookbox for this month box it so great 💁🏼♀️
I feel like I waited forever for this one to be released. All the hype had me salivating over myself once I finally had it in hand. I enjoyed it, & it had everything it needed to have – tension, twists, high stakes, the imminent threat of death – but ultimately I felt a litttle disappointed (this tends to happen to me when a book is built up so much for so long). I‘d read more by Urban, I just wouldn‘t spit on myself to do so. 😛
This didn't pack the murderous punch I wanted it to, the characters were boring stereotypes and the majority of the book was basic high school drama. I'm really disappointed.
