This will be forever my favorite all time romantic young adult book 5 stars
This is the perfect book for kicking off your summer. I love Amelia's growth and her devotion to the ice cream stand - and now I'm starving, too! #yalit
The best part of this book? #audiostitching!
The good? Amelia's growth (liked her from the start but it's good she learned she can't, shouldn't, make everyone happy); the small town/ lake/ ice cream stand setting; the backstory she discovers about Molly; her future plans
The bad? A toxic friendship, which to be fair improved by the end; an unnecessary romance; the book was way too long- I skipped whole chapters.
Kinda craving ice cream now 🍨
A really cute coming of age story about friendship, first love and following your dream.
Meade Creamery is an ice cream stand that was founded in 1945 as a place where young women could gather and support each other while their men were at war. Opening every summer and employing only women, it‘s a privilege to work under the tutelage of the senior girls. I loved the sisterhood the Meade Girls shared. A super sweet summer read!
Thank you so much for my #summersantagoespostal I love love love love love love love love love love love love it. I'm so excited to read the books and use all the stuff you gave me for my bullet journal @Endowarrior21 @bookishmarginalia
Good story about finding your strength and friendships. Reminded me a little of when I worked in an ice cream stand in high school, at least in setting. The biggest disappointment was probably the romance angle... way too rushed and underdeveloped. But read it for female empowerment! #LitsyAtoZ:V @BookishMarginalia
It‘s the last day of my holidays, and I want to read one book, just for me. So I am taking a time out from my reading commitments for this summer story. Right in the middle of our 🇦🇺 winter. #currentlyreading #romance #yaliterature #staysweet
I think I can best describe this as Fannie Flagg meets YA. I really enjoyed it (though I wasn‘t crazy about the romance) and would recommend it to anyone looking for a light, fluffy summer read. 🍦😊
This was the absolute perfect summer book! While working at the local ice cream shop Amelia deals with friendship, first love, and plans for the future. Mixed into this tasty batter of a book are journal entries from Molly- who founded Meade Creamery during WW2. Amelia is so relatable, and there were a few surprises twists that made the story even more delicious. This is a book you should read poolside with a dish of your favorite ice cream.
We dropped off our rental car and headed to the airport... only to find out that our flight had been canceled. We got a new one, but it doesn't leave for ages. I don't want to spend the next six hours here, but I guess I'll take the advice of my bookmark... 😕
This is the perfect beach read! Friendship, first love, and ice cream... 😍🍦❤
We're in Florida for the week on our honeymoon... tomorrow we'll hit Disney World, but tonight I'm sitting out on the patio with the perfect summer book.
Finally arrived. Another book I had to source online and offshore. But so so excited for it. Just have to squeeze it in somewhere. #staysweet #summerya #coverlove
Another short and sweet read that I‘ve knocked off for my #NetGalleyTBRAttack challenge.
The summer before a group of close friends go off to college, they make a pact to have the best summer yet working together at the local creamery. When the owner suddenly passes, and a young nephew takes over, some problems start arising. I loved the mixture of time periods, flash backs from old letters & diaries, and overall found the book to be a delight.
"She says that to scare me, but if that's the worst thing that happens, I think I'll be fine."
This is a perfect summer YA novel! I love that it wasn‘t solely centered on a romance and it‘s more about Amelia‘s journey into discovering who she is and where she wants to go. Also, Cate is the worst friend ever. Loved this book!
I love this cute promo pack for a fun summer read. Thanks to @simonbooks Can‘t wait to read this (eating ice cream w/ sprinkles!)
Been a week of nonstop moving and now that I've unearthed my ereader, time to sink into a favorite author.
