LizzieChantree Oh no... is that a chewed book? What a shame. Very cute dog though! 6y
Tianarose Oh no! I have to admit I have quite a few chewed books. Either by puppies or kids 😫 (edited) 6y

I read this many many years ago and absolutely loved it. Think I‘ll read it again. Did you enjoy this book ?

laurieluna I get around 300 pages in and then give up. But it's been at least 6/7 years since my last attempt and I'm much better at reading chunksters now so I'm going to give it another go at some point! 6y
LMJenkins I‘ve read this so many times I‘ve lost count. I‘m overdue for another. I love this book! I went to see the purple house when I was in New Orleans too. 6y
Traci1 This one was my favorite Rice book (much preferred over the vampires) when I was in high school. I've been thinking of rereading it. 6y
KathyWheeler I remember liking it a lot when I read it but being really angry when I realized there was no way to end the book in the few pages left, so it must be a series. I had not wanted to commit to a series at that time, so I was annoyed that I hadn‘t known this upfront. 5y

Can you guy please recommend some great science fiction novels for me.

It's one genre I haven't read much of.

Cheers thanks all.

Texreader It‘s not my genre either but I loved: 6y
shadowspeak17 This is a collection of SF short stories that are good. 6y
Texreader I also loved some of the books I‘ve read by James Hogan. I skip the extreme science details, but his storytelling was gorgeous: 6y

Texreader I‘m reading and listening to this one, which is amazing thus far: 6y
BillBlume I love Emily Suvada‘s This Mortal Coil. It‘s YA, but not angsty YA. 6y
lucylovestoread I love this book, also known as Tiger Tiger. It's classic sci fi and I think a really great introduction to the genre 6y
lucylovestoread Ender's Game is another great piece of classic sci fi that I could not put down. I also really enjoyed the film although I think I'm in the minority there. 6y
DivaDiane My favorite author and a good introduction to her work. 5y

This is so sad. Just hard to even comprehend how these 2 young boys could even contemplate doing what was done to darling young James. My heart goes out to Denise Fergus and how she has coped over the years is just amazing. I only say I pick this book as in respect for Jame‘s memory and for his Mum‘s brave heart and subsequent battles she has faced over the years.

I haven‘t really read anything by Terry P. Is this best one to start with. Recommendations would be so appreciated .

sprainedbrain I haven‘t read any Pratchett yet, but a bunch of us are starting a massive readalong of his work this month! Check out the tag #ookbookclub if you‘re interested. 😃 6y
lucylovestoread I love Sir Terry but struggled a bit with the first few Discworld books. I would probably recommend starting with Guards Guards, Mort or Wyrd Sisters. They are some of my favourites with fabulous characters and provide a good jumping off point in my opinion. I hope you enjoy them! 6y
Caz1 @lucyinedinburgh thanks so much. I think I might give those a go. Yes I am struggling a little with the earlier ones too. Thanks again xx Cheers 6y

CrowCAH Welcome to the Litsy family!!! 6y
Aims42 I 1000% agree with @lucyinedinburgh !!! 6y
Velvetsun The first few books aren't the best introduction to the series. I would try Guards Guards, or one of the stand alones, like Small Gods (My favorite #discworld book) 6y
lucylovestoread @Caz1 You are very welcome! Enjoy! I'm jealous you get to read them for the first time 😁 6y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa I started with his YA spin off, Wee Free Men and loved it. 6y
