so-soIt wasn't until the end that I realized this was an unauthorized biography. There were so many parenthetical statements throughout the book that I found them to be annoying, but I learned a lot about Stevie Nicks and her songs! I wish she would write a memoir.
pickThis biography tells the comprehensive story of Stevie Nicks and all of the people close to her. Only knowing Stevie through her music, I learned so much about her. The author spends a large portion of the book detailing how Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks joined Fleetwood Mac, the relationships between members, their music, and time on tour. pickMild pick. I can‘t say I learned anything earth shattering about Stevie Nicks‘ time in Fleetwood Mac and after. I pretty much already knew the broad strokes of most of the inter-band drama and Stevie‘s journey with drug addiction. The most out-there fact I did learn was that Stevie Nicks was a Twi-Hard and even wrote songs in the 2000s inspired by Twilight. Overall, I enjoyed the peek into 1970s-80s music industry but wasn‘t overly impressed.
Week Three totals for #LittenListen. The only audiobook I finished was the tagged, a biography of Stevie Nicks (review TBD), but I got extra points for #CuriousCovers (Woman), finishing a square on my #BookSpinBingo, and June holidays (Road Trip Day). I have some shorter books I am planning on sneaking in during the last 10 days.

Started listening to this yesterday for #LittenListen, but didn‘t realize it also fit for the cover prompt also! I love Fleetwood Mac and have consumed a lot of documentaries and videos about them, so looking forward listening to the full story.

Once again I‘ve been caught with my pants down after the start of the #24B4Monday #readathon in my time zone. The past few days have been pain flare ups all round so I‘m playing catch-up on Litsy. This is a very hopeful #TBR #stack with a few #NFNov choices in there as well, though there‘s another 9 library reservations the hubby is picking up tomorrow which includes more non-fiction. I‘m starting officially now with the rest of Loch Of The Dead.

His books pull no punches so this includes Nicks struggles with addiction & her failed relationships.

bailedI tried. Stevie Nicks is one of my favorites. I have been looking forward to this book for quite some time. Finally, after several months, It moved to the top of the hold list. Alas, I am not enjoying it. I‘ve read the first chapter which takes you all the way to Stevie Nicks meeting Mick Fleetwood, not a spoiler. I‘m returning it to the library. Perhaps, I will continue to read is the future.

so-soThis book is not authorized and is basically a compilation of publicly known information about Ms. Nicks. It reads like a fans perspective on her. If you're a fan ( as I am. I always wanted to twirl in cool outfits), you'll enjoy it, if not why would you bother? It's not especially well written and this is a flattering, non-objective view.
