This book is so cute and great for younger students and beginning English learners to dive into. The pictures offer great support and the text is large and easy to read. Over all a great read. This book is a non fiction picture book and I would use this as a story telling or independent read. For story telling I would use multimedia to help aid in comprehension

Hannacallaham For ESOL I would use 14. Simplify your speech by making it slower and redundant and 13. Use preview/ review activities. For UDL I would use 1.1 and 2.1 5y

I really liked this book because it‘s actually non-fiction but the story is so heart felt and interesting that students would really enjoy it and it‘s easy to draw connections with! This book is a non-fiction/ autobiography novel and is a Will Eisner and New York Times best seller. I would use this book for a Literature circle as well but more as a beginners literature circle to get the hang of it because it is a bit shorter than most novels.

Hannacallaham For ESOL I would use 2. Promise cooperation and 10. Teach think, pair, share strategies in cooperative groups. For UDL I would use 8.3 and 7.1 5y

This book was great! It is realistic fiction and a picture book. It is also a Caldecott winner! The story is about lots of people in a neighborhood coming to get a taste of Omus stew until she has no more left! The ending is that everyone brings her food as a thank you and has such a great tale of thankfulness and being generous. I would use a Readers Theatre teaching strategy for this story and allow the students to act out the book with props!

UDL: clarify vocab and symbols. ESOL: teach questioning for clarification. #ucfchildrenlit
