⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I would give endless stars… the trilogy is incredible. This is not for the faint of heart, there are triggers FOR SURE. Very prevalent and hard topic. Yet this author is able to paint the pictures without trash…. I see Chris Hemsworth as the lead.. seriously this series needs to be a movie.

I love Jane Green, this however, was so disappointing and different from ANYTHING she has ever done. I was looking forward to one thing and was so discouraged I got this. I should have looked here first on my percentages!! Awful in every way…

This is a new author to me, I had a hard time following the flash backs or memories she kept referring to in the middle of each chapter. Characters were ok, I know its fiction but I found myself really NOT liking the author the more I read. The main female character is needy and just wants to get married! IDK it just wasn‘t a nice feel good read....

What a read! It drug a bit, but overall I love period pieces and this was really good, I felt like I was there for part of the war. I have a new appreciation for Moet Chandon and a few others and will drink them now in aw of how they helped bring down the nazis in France. Incredible....and WHY are we NOT learning these things in school! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I liked it, I wouldn‘t have chosen it, thats what I love about Book Club. I am going to read the other book that Dan Malloy plagiarized this book from. Sad that an author needs to do this, AND its becoming a movie. Look into him, he has been compared to a real life Tom Riply. Thats scary! The book was well written, I hate to say, and I wish I didn‘t give him my money. A good read if you can find it used. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

LOVED IT! Again, another Charles Martin. Oh how I need these wonderfully written escapes from reality. Tuck talking back and forth with Miss Ella in Heaven is just so sweet. This is hard for me really, there are people I cannot forgive. The things done to me are not forgivable. So I couldn‘t relate to this, BUT it was incredibly written and I loved it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I LOVED this Charles Martin book! The way it was written was incredible. The haze Dylan is in, soooo good! The flashbacks of their lives together, the way he loves her. A great read, it had me crying at times and shocked at scenes I did NOT see coming. Easy, fast read. Its ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for sure!

This is a Christian series, the second in the Bluebell Inn Romances. It didn‘t read like a trashy romance, it was really good, quippy, fun and real. A, could happen, real romance! I am, for sure, going to read the entire series. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

First time reading a Charles Martin and I loved this book! Easy read, loved the characters!! Sort of happen stance to be a story about human trafficking. VERY WELL WRITTEN! This was a recommendation from a friend. “I leaned in close and spoke very slowly so my words would register. That we are made to want and give love. That no matter how dark the night, midnight will pass.” He is gifted....

I bought this years ago to read along with my high schooler. Wow, Golding really had low expectations of kids.... I would hope that this really wouldn‘t happen. So sad. The only reason I would recommend this to anyone is so they know what their kids are reading in school, its quite brutal. I hope some really good discussions came from it in class. I choose to believe humanity is NOT this disgusting.

LibrarianRyan I find it interesting that modern school read this and To Kill a mocking bird in HS. I read both of these in MS. i know it varies by school district but I still find it interesting. 4y
KendylChamberlain @LibrarianRyan interesting, I am 51, never read either of those in MS or HS. My kids go to a private school and their reading is really diverse for assignments and hopefully provoking thought. We are in Cali.... 4y
LibrarianRyan @KendylChamberlain 41 but at the time was at a military school in Alaska. Our reading was not very diverse. Classics all the way. 4y

It was awful! I kept waiting for it to get better. This author was stuck on shedding light on a not so good time gone by. This book is not uplifting, it serves no purpose, its not even educational, not happy, its a depressing story that didn‘t need to be told. Time I don‘t get back! I am going to have to vet my reads so much better.

A really good read. I am finding that I really enjoy historical fiction. This is a true (then embellished) story about a 16 year old girl that her father put in charge of three plantations. She is spirited and thats not what her Mother wants to see in social settings, she would rather be and has a gift to be...out on the plantation overseeing. This young girl, helped our country when we really needed it, tho she probably didn‘t understand how.

I was so captivated by this book, its long, it took me a bit to get into.... then it grabbed me, I kept going... I know this is historical fiction... BUT really? It just sucks, not the historical part... that was very interesting, and why I continued.... but the story could have been a better one.... there is a sequel, sooo not interested AT ALL. I wish I hadnt wasted my time on this one!! About 550 pages I dont get back!!!

I had no idea this was based on a real person and was a true story. It was an easy read but achingly hard at the same time. I wouldn‘t say I enjoyed the book, so much as it was educational, interesting, read unfathomable hardships left me with lots of questions.

This was a rough one in a few places for me personally. Very well written, kept me interested. Had no idea that orphan trains existed. I think thats a job I would have LOVED! Different towns, meeting new people and helping match children to their forever families, however, back then it reads as though it was 50/50 to receive a nice home.

This was a personally emotional read for me. I LOVED it. Great read, read 6 pages, put it down...then read some quick review updates from my book club and opened it again and didn't put it down till the end. I was shocked in the end. The killer wasn't who I thought it was. It was hard for me to follow the character changes and year changes in the beginning but hang on, you catch on.....
