I love this quirky, weird book whose main character talks to squirrels and has a highly entertaining dysfunctional family.

I'm 75% done and I realize I really do not like Mare Barrow. She is mean and a bit of a bully. I'll finish it, but I'm not loving it.

OMG, I've waited THREE years for this!!!! If you haven't read The Rook, stop now and do it. This is the much anticipated sequel. Or in my case, "squeequel".

I am really enjoying this book, however it bugs the ever loving crappola out of me that the audio narrator only pronounces about 50%of the Hawaiian words correctly. Details, people, details.

Finally reading this (and listening to Stephen Frye's amazing narration). Now I won't feel quite so guilty when I flash mt Geek Card.

Gezemice Ah, Vogon poetry. 🙀 8y
jpmcwisemorgan I listened to this a couple of weeks ago, the audio is well-done. 8y

Oh to be a storyteller like Stephen King! Fantastic book. This is a must-read.

Soscha The 1st King I read was Gerald's Game. I'd never bothered with him because I was a young budding English major and a bit of a snob. Figured he was another yearly bestseller hack. I was wrong. When he's on he's really on. 8y
Donna_sBookMinute A must read. Haven't read King in a while. I'm still laughing about the editor's overzealousness in listing things from the era in the description. The Lindy Hop was not one of them. That was my Mother's era. Too funny! I'll keep an eye out for it. 8y

OMG, she wants you to empty your purse every night, so it doesn't feel like it is going to bed on a full stomach. 🤔

jpmcwisemorgan Um, but what if it's all things you're just going to put back in? 8y

Well, I read it in a day but it still left me a bit flat. It's a little overworked in places, but she's a good storyteller. 4 stars for plot, 3 stars for writing.

This book was fantastic! Better than the first due to one character: Rhysand! The end wrecked me, so much so that I cannot wait for Book Three. Sarah Maas: I bow to you.

I didn't read the book, but watched the movie last night. So silly, but the "proposal scene" was perfect!!!! Also Matt Smith was adorable as Collins.

jpmcwisemorgan I haven't read it yet either but I enjoyed the movie. I agree with the proposal scene too! 8y

BookJunkie429 I couldn't get into the book, but I want to see the movie. 8y

Love and seeing. Karen Mazen Miller writes so beautifully with such simple truths.

I've read all of Clare's books, but this trilogy is my favorite. Everyone seemed more real, plots more poignant, and the ending of the trilogy is THE BEST.

Apparently the movie is still in development, even though we were promised it last September. This book continues to be one of my favorites I have ever read. The fact that it began in NANOWRIMO only makes it better

Mehso-so

Sadly predictable. Perhaps I didn't figure out every single twist of the story, but I hate when I'm less than halfway through and I know exactly where and how things are going. This is a very romantic historical fiction, it should be considered romance rather than historical fiction.

This book brought up such interesting ideas for me. I understand this is the authors personal story, it gave me a great deal to think about my own story. Coehlo is always an interesting writer, with his simple yet descriptive sentences.
