This retelling of "One Thousand and One Nights" is such an enjoyable read. I loved the different aspects the author added to the story and I love how much culture was explored in the stories. It came across not only through the words and dialect, but food and clothing as well. I loved how the themes of betrayal and loyalty were explored. I definitely have to read the second book.

This a review for the WEBTOON only!! The book is good, but check out the free WEBTOON!! The series is amazing and pulls from the book with some twist. I recommend it. The series is complete so you can binge it on the WEBTOON app. This is a two book series, but just one WEBTOON. There is action, romance, plot twist, and female lead. I LOVED this book. It kept me interested throughout. The romance was fantastic and oh the heroine's outfits were so beautiful. It was perfectly paced and unpredictable. And the cliffhanger? Let's just say it's because of books like these that I don't start a series until the whole series is published. Looking forward to reading the sequel!🍁🍻

This story is about Khalid, the Caliph of Khorasan, who takes a new bride each night only to have her executed at sunrise. When Shazi's friend becomes the Caliph's victim, she volunteers herself with a plan to outwit the evil ruler and exact revenge. Shazi delays her execution by weaving enchanting stories for Khalid & promising only to reveal what happens next if he'd let her live another day.
I'm hoping the book's as interesting as it sounds.🍻

Enchanted_Bibliophile I read it a few years ago and still remember that I enjoyed it so much I finished it in one sitting 3y

I love how fierce a heroine Shahrzad is throughout this story. She speaks her truth & holds her ground, but despite her stubbornness she's also open-minded enough to learn. Because of that, the romance doesn't feel forced. The tension builds nicely & doesn't feel like a classic love triangle, which was also nice. Once I put it down, I was ready for the next!

5🌟 Fantasy Reads!

I scrolled through my goodreads and these are all the fantasy books I‘ve given 5 stars. Not shown are a few magical realism books that I gave 5 stars, because to me they‘re different 🤪

Also, doing this has made me realize how bad I am at finishing series. Or even picking up the second book. Which I already knew 🙃

I‘d love to see your 5 star fantasy books @jinxmoon @Ash.on.the.line @starlight97

#20Series20Days - A wonderful retelling of the 1001 Nights tale. This is a duology with 3 short stories as well.

I didn‘t know what to expect when picking up the first book. It had been on my shelf for a couple years but I absolutely devoured it and immediately needed the next book.

The author is a YA author but this series did not feel like a typical YA book.

After a bit of a slow start, this book really took off and I was completely hooked. Lovely writing, wonderful characters that develop nicely and never once made me roll my eyes, and an action-packed plot with a nice romance running through it. It‘s YA, but didn‘t really feel like it, if that makes sense.

Great pick for #LMPBC, Chrissy! I have the second book checked out from the library already.😃

tracey38 I still have to work every day because I work in a cancer center. And it's been so stressful during this time. I try to come home and just get out of my own head: read, journal, watch something fun on tv, my sister texts pics or videos of my nieces playing at their house, I started the free 60 day trial of Daily Burn to do a short workout or yoga. I sleep with onger/nap on weekends because I'm so tired. 🙂 Whatever I can. 5y

This is the first time I cannot find one of my books, namely this one.😅 I‘m going to vienna tomorrow to finish moving out of my flat and I really hope it is still there🙈

Anyway: I finished this book yesterday on Audible and I did not grasp that it was not a standalone😭 I already used up my current credit but by the end of the month this will be my next audible pick. There should be a BIG warning lable to prevent such surprises.
