Whatever native talents he has, Lincoln attributes entirely to his first mother‘s bloodline. That he was allowed to make something of them is the work of his second mother. He credits his father with none of it.
I REALLY enjoyed this read! Enough Lincoln was sprinkled in to remind you the connection etched into American History. I appreciated the research that author took to provide this account into not just John Wilkes but his entire family.
I‘m VERY happy to be back in this platform sharing #allthebooks #fortheloveofreading
I‘m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers-L.M. Montgomery Starting this gem on my @SerialReader today! #tidbits #bitsize #readingnuggets #becauseoctober #thegreatamericanreads #pbs

Rather, her sadness was a small thing—still real, still bitter, but something she could contain like corn kernels inside a priest‘s rattle. The sadness would still shake, and she knew its noise would sometimes be great, but it was her own hand on the rattle. She could master it and tuck it away at will. It would never again blot out her spirit completely.
Apocalyptic read about creatures and going bat shit CRAZY after seeing said creatures. Inventive, haunting and fun! Recommend if you want a quick spooky sort of weekend read. ‘Tis the season!
This book is resonating with me in the most meaningful ways. Namaste 🙏🏻
"You don't fool me, darling," she said with a playful little smile and crept into his big arms. #dancingontheinside
T-minus 30 hours and counting until Vacay is officially O-V-E-R! So picking up this gem as the last read! #bookishvacation #funsalmostover
Did some necessary shopping for the *new* library while in Austin today. @bookpeople #shopindie #booksmakemehappy
Reading Frankenstein and my mind can't help but to replace it with Fronkonsteen! 😂 #itsalive #potatopotatoe
The writing was lyrical yet so unpretentious. The events in this family's life singing with reality, strength and love. I was saddened yet happy for the ties that bind and that gave this mother the love she sacrificed and carved out of every inch of her time on earth.
One of my favorite books is on sale today on Amazon. Mystical, magical, and imaginative. Imagine yourself in Shangri-La!
The mind of man is capable of anything--because everything is in it, all the past as well as all the future. #booklove #pastpresentfuture @SerialReader
This one has been on the #TBR shelf for awhile. That's what the randomizer on #Goodreads will do for your indecisiveness. #firstworldbookproblems #booklover #bookishgirl
Finished Great Expectations on #SerialReader and now it's on to #HeartofDarkness. #ReadingtheClassics
A sweet and honest memoir about all the "stuff" that can clog our awareness and make the guidance of the Universe inaccessible to us. Jill's experiences that brought her to center were fun and endearing right along with the heartbreak and anguish of carrying around a lot of excess baggage. Kudos to the author for stepping out of her comfort zone to write this book and share her insight.
Thanks to the Serial Reader App I made it through this Classic. I thoroughly enjoyed the read and understand fully what all the hullabaloo is about. Such a great story of love, gratitude and the happiness you have once you realize that those things already exist on your own hearth. And sometimes the journey to find them leads you home.
#Augustphotochallenge #currentlyreading @KVanRead loving my Serial Reader app too! @TheSpinecrackersBookClub
Met Jill at an Elizabeth Gilbert book talk in Denver. One of those GREAT humans and souls. Excited to read her book! #f*^kingbestbooktitleever #bookishsouls
The weight of this man's life cut short will be with me for some time. The pursuit of the almighty dollar can be fierce. It leaves me breathless when I try to analyze it. I'm sure I won't be the first, or the last to do so. But as this real-life story continues to seep into the nooks and crannies of my humanity to not acknowledge that it has changed me would be unfair to this bright light, extinguished too soon.

Made me think of the importance of Maslow's Hierarchy.
You're not destined or chosen, I wish I could tell you that you were if that would make it easier. But it's not true. You're in the right place, at the right time, and you care enough to do what needs to be done. Sometimes that's enough.
Thoroughly enjoyed this read! The last story, The Dead, was my favorite.
Got in an hour on the plane traveling to see my boys! Loving this audio version by Jim Dale. Very well read! #24in48 #bookishtraveler
When you get to the part of Great Expectations and suddenly it all makes sense! 🤓 Enjoying the read 📖 on the Serial Reader app 📱

Can't believe I forgot to post this! Saw Matilda at the Cambridge Theatre, Covent Garden, London. TREMENDOUS!
Loved seeing Liz Gilbert in Denver recently. This was my favorite quote from the evening. PS She gives AWESOME hugs! 🤗
