This sequel is a fast read. Each chapter is a cliffhanger and can't stop.

Avery and the boys delve more into the mysteries and riddles left behind by “the old man” and his son, Toby. It was a good read and tied up a lot of loose ends from the last installment while still leaving puzzles to solve later on. The love triangle is starting to annoy me a bit though, so hopefully Avery makes a decision soon. Overall, this book was a nice sequel and I‘m glad that I have the next book so that I can continue the series! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I love this series. I don't usually read sequels, but I'm glad I've got all three books, so I can just keep reading. I'm rooting for Avery, and I'm glad she's ready to take charge.
Book 2, YA...meh. Same story different plot. I liked it enough to finish it, but the first was better. This felt redundant.
This is about on par with the first one for me — kinda ‘meh.‘ It has lost that initial ‘Scooby Doo shine‘ that made the first installment fun. Part of me is interested to read the third book, but I‘ve been reading it with my daughter, and if she were to want to move onto something different I wouldn‘t be heartbroken.
Well the good thing about having “ebook” access is my baby was able to sleep comfortably on my lap. Libby had the next one —- it‘s downloading now
JuJuB annoyed at my attempt of a selfie
I have this one on Kindle (from Libby) I‘m not crazy about that medium especially by the fire but…. I‘m almost done with it!
Really enjoyed book 2 in this series. So many games are being played! +266 pts

My goodness has this gotten me hooked. As a new mystery emerges, you learn more about the Hawthorne boys, you see passed the barriers that they had created to find these beautiful, painful characters. I could never choose my favourite brother, they all officially occupy a place on my comfort character list. This mystery with undertones of romance is beyond any praise I could give it. I am in love.
I am loving this series so far. I love the characters so much and I love the plot of the story too. I rated this book a 4 out of 5 stars.
What a great sequel!! The mystery continues around Avery and her inheritance, and the secrets just keep unveiling themselves. I really hope Avery figures out what (…WHO) she wants in the next book bc the love triangle plot is getting a bit tacky, but that‘s my only complaint about the whole book. Can‘t wait for the next one with @KateReadsYA 😁😁
Just really trying to process everything this book emotionally just put me through haha! The second book in The Inheritance Games Series is so epic. Can't wait to read on to book 3. Thanks for buddy reading with me @BooksNBowls the discussion for this is gonna be soooooo good.
Buddy Read! @BooksNBowls 👻☕️📖
Absolutely LOVED this book and series. Can‘t wait for the next one in the series to arrive. Starting the book on the right. Hope is is really good! 🤩
My current companions as I read this lovely Friday night. Rex has knocked almost everything off my table so he can sleep there. Lily Belle is on her favorite blanket and Baby Tiger is hanging out beside me.
Second time reading this book. Absolutely loved it once again. This is a family that makes you want to hit something but at the same time… wants you to keep going. Lots of twists and turns. A mystery worth loving

I listened to this book via BorrowBox,
I found it ok, not as good as the first one sadly.
Read for reading challenges.

Book #2 in the series and just as fun as the first. But with more ‘close calls‘, possible romances, and risky moves.

Book 2 was as good as the first. @Andrew65 I think you‘d enjoy this series.
Last book of 2022. Started and finished on New Year's Eve! It's been a long time since I've been able to read a whole book in one day. I needed that break.
Hope everyone had a great New Years and here's to a wonderful 2023! 🎉
This YA series is ridiculously good fun. Which isn‘t to say it isn‘t completely over the top, implausible, & occasionally so out there it leaves you shaking your head because it is. It‘s also compulsively readable & a great escape that will have you turning pages as quickly as you can to keep up with all the action. So yeah, I enjoyed this puzzle filled mystery as much as the first & am diving right into the third book. Seriously fun reading.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Fast-paced,mysterious, more puzzles to solve, character development, thrilling plot twists
Avery‘s story is continuing, the bomb-shell ending from the previous instalment was continued in this second-part and over the course of the story all the characters had instances when their were turned upside down.Touching story about finding a family without being blood-related , Avery‘s “revenge” will it succeed?

The game continues in the sequel to The Inheritance Games and I definitely want to know what happens next so I‘m diving right in!
My second time around with the second book was even better! I do miss some of the puzzles, but I just really love the characters. #Scarathlon #TeamSlaughter @Clwojick

I enjoyed this more than the 1st!! I wholly believe it is because you become more in touch with the main characters, the surrounding characters are still there, but not as strong of a presence. #Scarathlon2022 #TeamSlaughter #Spookoween #31by31 @Clwojick @TheSpineView @Catsandbooks
I love this series and enjoyed book 2 just as much as book 1.
Main characters were likable and I even liked romance in this book. But there were still too many secondary characters that we knew almost nothing about.
I liked mysteries and puzzles in this one, but there were so many twists that it made everything a little hard to follow.
I liked this one more than the first one, this had action from the first pages and was easier to read.

“We all make decisions, and those decisions affect other people. They ripple through the world, and the more power you have, the greater the ripple.”
Look. These aren't great. The love triangle is AWFUL. But if you've ever read a petty drama Facebook post and all 300 comments for the juice without ever getting involved-- that's this in a book. At an intellectual level, these are meh. The speed I read them at... well. I NEED the juice. I'll likely get the third immediately just to answer questions and be thoroughly annoyed at the romance triangle end.
This series has basically turned into a soap opera- amnesia and all- but I‘m not mad. I mean, this book was still really good. But it took me a book and a half to realize there was a love triangle. I don‘t know if that‘s me being oblivious or if it‘s just not been written prominently enough. I also feel like it‘d be better if Avery‘s relationship with the boys was platonic, not romantic, but hey I‘ll read them all either way. 5⭐️
I loved book 2 over the first one! This was fast paced and the story was written in such a way I kept saying “ok just a couple more pages” until BAM I finished the book. Oh and it was 2am 🙄 yeah getting up this morning was a struggle. Oh well. So goes life. #blqsummerreadingchallenge #bluecover #bookspin @TheAromaofBooks
Received some books from Pangobooks as well. I'm so excited I got The Hawthorne legacy for $5 and The afterlife of hollychase for $1! Yayy for deals.
This book was PHENOMENAL. The riddles, the plot twists, the characters, everything. I‘ve already re-read it twice after finishing it a few weeks ago. I absolutely loved the first book too, but the plot and ending of that one pales in comparison to this one. I would definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys hard to guess mystery/riddle books with a love triangle element and lovable characters.
A deadly game. Billions at stake. Family secrets 🤫

Totally forgot to post this yesterday. 🤦🏻♀️ Love my #littlechristmasswap package! Thanks @shellleigh33 😄 Excited to read the book and the candy won‘t last long. Thanks for hosting @bookish_wookish
I actually may have liked this sequel better than the first one. Super quick and engaging read!
Very typical— sequels are never better than the first, and this one fell right in line with the rest. Same ole, same ole. Except for I didn‘t realize there was a THIRD BOOK!! Why did none of y‘all tell me?! And it‘s not even out yet! Oh well, it wasn‘t terrible. 5/10
9/10 I really do just enjoy this series. I hope there‘s another, although I don‘t know that here will be.
4th book read for#NovelNovember #readathon @Andrew65
I liked this second book in the series even better than the first because I was even more invested in the characters' outcomes. I loved all the twists and turns and I really admire Avery's resiliency and level head.
