So, today is a deadline of a SUPER big project. From my part, it is done, ready, and perfect. No need hassle over it anymore. But I just can't stop to worry about it. Perhaps it's time for the most luxurous distraction that I have been denying myself for few weeks: reality escape with this ^

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Absolutely hilarious - but also informative (jokes aside).
I liked the style Sarah Cooper used and figures. Even tough most if the situations are clearly worker's perspectives, they can be applied widely for leaders as well.
I recommend this everyone who wants a good laugh.

My first touch to sci-fi. I really enjoyed the story, because it was unpredictable, yet everything was connected. Future and scifi is hard to imagine. Therefore, I liked how writer had imagined and described everything. I could imagine that beyond space is something like that. 5/5 (mainly because of positive surprise of stories)

So, I got a message from the library that tomorrow is deadline for booking. I didn't even remember I had this (too busy with everything else). So: 1 book, 24h + deadline for reports for the evening. I can do this!

I finally got myself to read this. To be honest, I kind of expected more of it. However, most of the critic from my part rise from personal tastes. Moreover, I still recommend to read it as it was nkt boring.
+ Good plot
+ The plot went on/not boring
+ Twists

- For me, most of the twists were predictable
- Lots of places and names to keep up
- I am no fan of romance, thus, the sugar in this book mainly irritated

My present.
I really liked it as she is honest with story, but does not reveal everything at once. Many of situations are easy to be compared and some challenges/questions gave me something to reflect.

I'd recommend this for anyone 📖

I love this logic 🍵 short version:

-So end of the world is coming.
-In short,yes.
-Then there is only one thing to do. I make some tea.
-Your answer for the end of the world is to make tea?
-Do you have any better ideas?

Just finished the Letters to Young Mathematician and now this one 😀 My mind clearly wants something else than fantasy/horror now. I don't care. A good book is a good book and this is a good way to spend time when waiting for a car from checkout.

Title: The city of snakes.

Another book I read in Finnish - long time ago - and I love it as a story and the arabic fantasy atmosphere. The writing is amazing taking account that this is the writers second publication. Especially the chemistry between those three friends earns an extra star.

Trollkonstnaren Story: Three friends find gigantic snake eggs. One of them, snake princess, watches in horror when one if the boys crushes them while the third one just stands. Their friendship is broken. Years later, the fate of their enslaved country rests on their shoulders. 1y

Short stories based on Lovecraft mythology. I like it a lot :) There was not only stories of Cthulhu cult in the book - tough they were majority. I really have to applaud few writers how they twisted Finnish mythology and Lovecraft so well! I'd love start collecting Lovecraft's books (and stories based on them) alongside my Tolkien and Stories from 1001 nights.

So last one for #agameoffavorites . Again, I go with something I want to read. A random fact: Mary Shelley was usurped to write something horrible as a part of competition. She wrote this and won - others wrote nothing.

And today in #agameoffavorites, award winning author. I decided to go again with a book I haven't read. And what would be better than a book wuth two amazing authors in my favorite category: #fantasy. Sk obviously the book won World Fantasy award (1991). I can only tell what it is about by back cover: the end is coming. What could possibly go wrong? #neilgaiman #terrypratchett

jmofo Yay! One of my favorite recommend books! I‘m looking forward to the tv interpretation (fun cast and Gaiman was quite involved)! 1y
Trollkonstnaren @jmofo Really? Then it is must to watch! After I have read this 😉 And obligatory question (since this one of your favorites). What is it that you like about it 😀? 1y
jmofo @Trollkonstnaren a lot: well done POV of varied characters, unconventional religious orders/figures, humorous approach to ennui and dread, relatively powerful characters having to put up with something beyond their control, it is pretty goofy at times but it has heart. I could go on and on. 1y

A little bit late in schedule in #agameoffavorites but here we go :)
This was easy as Agatha Christie is one of my favorite authors :) It is still furstrating that I cannot solve the mysteries.
I didn't find her favorite book but she admired Elisabeth Bowen and Graham Greene.

This time,I decided to with something I'd like to read myself. I chose this one because it was one of the firsts to show up in search in poetry + by topic sounded intruiging. Author's favorite book is mystery, but she seems to be a Potter fan, so I doubt it goes badly wrong to go that direction :)

I don't appreciate much local authors work so I go with the first book that came to my mind.
Perhaps not "local", but from my country (so close enough?). I read this long time ago and it is very hard reading. The story is slow, but storytelling is interesting - and quite poetic. The beginning is interesting as it starts from the end. However, not the best one I have read, but the best of locals.

I did not enjoy this so much as I thought. It should not be a surprise, as I dislike stories that try to romantize spiritual route to oneself. I wanted, however, to give this book a chance as I like to hike myself (something to relate), but I couldn't get into the story. On the other hand, the book summarizes well the hiking, how it can be unexpected all the time, and met people. I recommend this even tough I didn't like (for personal reasons).

Perhaps a boring choice, but for me this is always important. I read it at young age and the story took my heart! Nowadays, it is a ritual for me to read Tolkien everytime somerhing changes (a new job, moving, etc) and it calms me.

I read this in Finnish and didn't find an English version. My first non-fiction.

Very disturbing/anxious book. Despite the disturbing theme, it is good that these things become more open. I still give a good score because the book was hard to let go and storytelling is good (emotional, dramatic, a d straight).

I have been hooked to this since first book. A strong woman protagonist, real life problems, and mysticm. I can recommend this, but I hope you read prevous books as there are multiply references from past. It makes it easier to follow. The only disapointing thing was the ending. Even though the crime was solved, it was still open ending for personal life. For some people it can be good, but I didn't appreaciate.
