Confession time: I didnt actually like this book. It had its cute moments, but there were a lot of things that took me out of the story so I couldn't really enjoy it. I'm putting myself on a book buying ban because of all the wonderful indie bookstores around me -_-

So here's where I finished 24in48! I completely forgot it was happening so it's not surprising that I didn't finish, but I did get to about 12 hours, and I'm proud of that. I also got through a large chunk of my TBR, so that was great.

What a fantastic read! Jack Price is the antihero I never knew I needed. This is a book about terrible people doing terrible things, but it‘s so well done and in such a unique style that you just enjoy the ride. It was also hilarious- I was laughing at things I definitely should not have been laughing at. As a side note, “LUCILLE!” #arc

Haul from the library book sale! I have to say, I‘m especially looking forward to Partridge‘s Concise Dictionary of Slang and Unconventional English.

This was such a fantastic book! There were definitely parts that felt completely unrealistic, but a book about college sports + the mafia + wonderful characters who are also kind of terrible people? Sign me up.

This one didn‘t hit me as hard as Silvera‘s other works, but it was still both very emotional and beautiful. Friendship, grief, loss, and romance were all excellently portrayed, and while one-day romances aren‘t really my thing, I still thoroughly enjoyed this.

Two and a half hours into #24in48 and I‘ve finally finished this one. I wish I liked it more, especially when I loved the first book, but this one turned out to be far too preachy for my tastes, and not nearly as funny.

This was incredibly depressing and oddly hopeful at the same time. Also a very quick read- it was great to start off #24in48.

Hex was an interesting horror novel that did not give me what I expected. While it was certainly entertaining, I felt a little bit cheated out of the revenge of a witch.

I didn‘t think it was possible for this book to be worse than the first in the series, but it somehow managed to be more racist and had the most convoluted explanation for a love hexagon I‘ve ever seen. Oh, and the poetry somehow got worse.

This book very quickly shot up my list of favorites and is now tied with the third on the list. Hilarious, serious at times, and with amazing characters? I couldn‘t stop reading.

While there were parts of the book that I definitely disliked, overall, it made me feel so many emotions. By the end, I was emotionally drained in the best way, and I can't wait to read the author's other books.

This book destroyed me.

This was incredibly cheesy and had a severe lack of well-developed characters, but the plot was entertaining and I did enjoy the book as a whole.

This was a case of good idea, bad execution. The main character was alright, and I did like the friendships portrayed, but there was way too much alpha male bs and the characters felt more like adults in their mid-twenties rather than teenagers. Also, the book had almost nothing to do with Alice in Wonderland or zombies, and that irked me.

Summer reading this year was certainly interesting.

This was honestly so good. Each plot twist (and believe me, there were many) really kept me guessing as to what the truth was. And I'm still wondering about that ending.

A terrible book, but still entertaining in how awful the characters and plot were. This had everything I hate in a book- racism, white savior syndrome, and a massive Mary Sue protagonist, but it reached the point where it was so bad it was good.

This book is reaching My Immortal-levels of bad writing.

...Dude, he literally just saved your life after you put yourself at risk. You could be a little more grateful!

I actually really enjoyed this one. Watching the main character spiral out of control and trying to figure out the twist was quite interesting to me, and I loved how all the characters were responsible for the ending. #arc

This was a short and sweet romance- there wasn't much substance/plot, and I can't say I really liked the characters, but it was fun. Worth a read if you've got an hour to spare.

This was such a fantastically hilarious book. Nick, the MC, is one of my favorite characters of all time, I loved the plot, I was never bored... There was just so much to love about this.

This book is up there with 1984 on my list of favorite dystopias. Sure, parts of it moved a little slow, but some of it was just so clever, I couldn't stop reading. It's a fantastic book that more people should read.

The portrayal of grief in this book was absolutely wonderful, and I really liked the writing, but I also hated the main character and had way too many questions by the end. Too bad, it could have been fantastic. #arc

I'm not a huge fan of writing in verse, so this one was a little iffy for me, but the story was enjoyable and I really felt bad for the main character. However, the ending was a little...off, so I couldn't enjoy it fully.

This was so good! I was laughing every other page and the rest of the time, I had a stupid grin on my face. I loved all the characters, the plot was great, and the jokes were on point. It was great 🤣

This was so bad it was good. It had so many clichés that I could barely read it, the characters were annoying, and the plot was too convoluted to make sense. However, all these terrible parts were making me crack up while I was reading it, so...

This was a fun story about two friends, their transition to high school, and a lot of drama. The main character is seriously relatable and the other characters were well written. Recommended if you like reading about teenage drama.

In my SAT book, there's this list of books that high schoolers should read. It disappoints me that I've read so few, so I have a new goal: read at least one book from each of the authors on this list by the end of the year.

It had a slow beginning, but once I got about 30% in, it got good fast, and I just couldn't put it down. I loved all the characters, and the plot, while not the most original, was wonderfully executed. #arc

A really short read. It's a simple story about a single teenage father trying to raise his daughter, and while it was emotional, it was a little too flowery for me.

I was a bit hesitant to start this one because of stuff I've heard about it, so I decided that having nice bookmarks would make me feel better while reading it. Making the bookmarks and writing the quotes actually really helped me get in the mood to start reading 😆

This book, while on a difficult subject, gave an important lesson on how you might not actually know people the way you think you do. Sure, it had its problems, but it was seriously worth reading.

50 shades of terrible. Every character was either unlikable or one-dimensional, the plot, while mildly interesting, didn't really go anywhere, etc. It could have been great, but alas, it wasn't.
