This was a fun little cozy mystery; and I enjoyed it. It was a nice light read with enough twists to keep you wondering.

So this was one of the books I read this weekend. I was a little hesitant given my opinion of the last one, but I liked this one a good amount.

Finished this one last night. I loved that two of my favorite characters were the focus of this one. I didn't feel like it flowed as well as some of the previous books. But what sealed the so-so rating was the last line. I'm not gonna give a spoiler but the last chapter seemed rushed and then to end it that way killed me.

I finished reading this one this afternoon. I will say that I definitely liked this one better than Artemis. The inner dialogue was much more enjoyable. Also the switching between Mars and Earth scenes flowed well. Definitely glad I read this one.

So finished this one tonight. I must say I do really like how the writing styles of the authors melds together so well. This one wasn't a heart pausing as say The Relic but it was a nicely pieced story with some nice turns. I did find myself somehow going from what seemed like chapter 5 to 33 in no time yesterday.

So I finished this one earlier, today. I have to say I'm a bit mixed on it. The story line was pretty good, but the rolling commentary by Jazz was a bit nerve grating at times in my opinion. I haven't read The Martian yet, but I would be willing to give it a go.

JuliaTheBookNerd The Martian is soooooooo much better than this book! You should definitely give it a read, you won‘t be disappointed 😊❤️ 6y

So I packed this one to bring on my one day out and in trip for work. Currently I'm over 80% finished with it. Reading it in the course of 2 flights wasn't the plan. If I have time after I get back to the airport tomorrow I may need to buy another book for the return flight.

So I got this one at the library yesterday, and pretty throughly devoured it afterward. 😁 It was my first try of this author and I very much enjoyed it. The story unfolds as told by the point of view of the two main characters. It was a fun read, and I hope the story will continue.

@Gissy @JenlovesJT47 oh my, I'm bouncing like a little kid at Christmas! Thank you so, so much, you picked awesome things and spoiled me !!! I got books I didn't have, a new journal, wicked cool mug - it's Gryffindor 🤗 and coasters too. Do you see the Funko Pop?!!?!! I can't wait to hang the poster - it's perfect. The special bookplates are great and the tea I can't wait to try. The bookmark made me smile.

Gissy I'm so happy you liked it. You said wanted the special edition of Ravenclaw HP book, and said that didn't have other books of HP or any funko. So those are the items chosen thinking in your tbr. I love the art print I thought it was convenient. I'm thinking to buy one for me later☺️I love swaps because it is a way to make others happy! I hope you are happy with your box! 📚❤️ 6y
Char @Gissy I am so far beyond just "happy". You completely rocked!! I had gotten the special edition of the Gryffindor version but the Ravenclaw looked so spectacular in the pictures. I'm so chuffed with it. 6y

The book opens with an immediate suicide and then carries the reader on a course of twists and turns that are at times pretty dark and often quite surprising. I think it was a great debut book for the author as well.

Ok this is more of a rant, I will be honest. Of the books i have read lately, there have been at least 3; that have referenced the copper smell of blood. One used the reference across the entire book. I can't remember exactly what copper smells like... but blood, blood smells like iron.

Thus blatant incorrect reference in so many books just irked me. If you are talking about vampires or bloody fights know the right blood references, please.

The idea of a steampunk, alternative history of WW1 intrigued me to pick this last weekend at the library. The story is develops with the Central Powers, known as Clankers, using mechanical war machines, opposed the Allies, known as Darwinists, that fabricate genetic creatures. The concept was neat; but I would say that the story didn't fully grab me enough to pick it fully but i liked it more than a so-so. I would be willing to read the next one.

Mehso-so

I honestly am mixed on this. The story was good, the different take on the general classes of species was interesting. The development of the key world factor of tech and magic was lacking. It felt like i had picked up a book in the middle of a series, instead of the first one. The first few chapters were tough at times. Given that though, after finishing the book, i probably will give Magic Burns a chance.
