#TemptingTitles #WithaTown

In the book Winthrop is a last name but Winthrop is also a small western themed town in north central Washington.
I have not read this author yet, hope to some day.

TrishB Katherine and Green Darkness are my favourites 😁 12mo

Reading the enthrallingbook,The Winthrop Woman. This was a gift I received years ago, from a Litten-I apologize I cannot remember who.
It‘s a wonderful follow up to the book Beheld. The first part recounts Anne Winthrop‘s life in England before she emigrates to Massachusetts Bay Colony In 1631. I am excited about where this book brings me.
Christmas at High Rising is from my #winterreathon list

Andrew65 Loving the sound of this book. Katherine by the same author is. Favourite of mine. 1y
LeahBergen I‘ve had the tagged book waiting on my shelves for years. 🙄 1y

WHEN YOU HAVE FOUND THE PERFECT BOOK!

When your reading a book, and you become transported into the story. You are no longer the reader, you are walking alongside the characters, you are living the author's story, and then realizing this is one of the best feelings.

Overwhelmed with all the lovely easter & bookish items as well as four perfect books! I have not read any of them! My cup runneth over! Thank you so so much @MissAimz_55 !!!! 🙌🏻🎉🎊💃🏻📚❤️🐣 Bringing the little petunia pot to work to to grow with the help of a student who has been waiting, with me, for spring to stay! (snow tomorrow!)

Thanks to @JoeStalksBeck for running this!

MissAimz_55 Glad you liked it, it was fun! Let me know how the books are, they all sounded interesting especially the Tea Rose 6y

#FemaleLead

Hmm... after @TrishB mentioned Anya Seton the other day, I realized I hadn‘t read this oldie on my shelf. I fell in love with Seton‘s books (and historical fiction, in general) in my teens when I‘d comb the used bookshops for gems like this. 😆 Who else was a fan?

SandyW I've only read Katharine. I really enjoyed it too @Ingerella 6y
Chrissyreadit Love her books! 6y
PatriciaU Green Darkness! I loved that book and haven‘t thought of it in years. Pretty sure I still have my tattered paperback. Must read again! (edited) 6y
LeahBergen @Ingerella @SandyW Katherine was the first book by her that I read and I adored it. ❤️ 6y
LeahBergen @wanderlustforwords I do, too. Well, sort of ... I love vintage hardcovers but can‘t stand well-used modern paperbacks. 😂 6y
LeahBergen @toofondofbooks @PatriciaU I loved Green Darkness! I have an old hardcover of that one, too. ❤️ 6y
LeahBergen @Chrissyreadit Yes! 👏🏻👏🏻 6y
TrishB This is a gorgeous version ❤️ sadly I only have a couple of mass market paperbacks.... 6y
rubyslippersreads Me! I think I read them all as a teenager, and a year or so ago, reread (and watched the movie) 6y
LeahBergen @TrishB Thanks! 😘 6y
LeahBergen @rubyslippersreads I‘ve read Dragonwyck but never seen the movie! 6y
TrishB I now have a lovely hardback for Q9.50 off ebay......I‘m just blaming you ?? 6y
LeahBergen @TrishB I‘ll take all the blame! 😂😂 Make sure you post when it arrives so I can see it. I‘m feeling like reading a Seton soon! 6y
kspenmoll Did not read this one, but right up my ally. Enjoyed Katherine ( my name so of course I read it😀) 6y
Reviewsbylola I read Katherine and enjoyed it. Maybe it‘s time to look into more from Seton. 6y
rubyslippersreads @LeahBergen Vincent Price is perfectly creepy as the husband, but what I can't believe is they were originally going to cast Gregory Peck. It's much more believable that Gene Tierney's character would find him attractive, but I just can't see him being scary enough. 😊 6y
Melissa_J I love Seton‘s books, with Katherine and Green Darkness being my favourites. I still have a couple to read, including this one. 6y
LeahBergen @kspenmoll You HAD to read Katherine. 😄 6y
LeahBergen @Reviewsbylola She does a good, solid old-fashioned historical novel. Green Darkness is a fun one with a bit of time travel, though. 👍🏻 (edited) 6y
LeahBergen @rubyslippersreads Vincent Price? I must check it out. And not Gregory Peck! 6y
Reviewsbylola Oooh that one sounds good and I think there‘s still a time traveling prompt I have to fill for #pop18! 6y

As much as I'm enjoying this book, I can't help but be distracted by the Rugby 7s match that my dad has just put on. Sexy men in short shorts on a massive screen take precedence over discussions of Works vs. Grace 🏉👀😜
