Thanks for the tag @Powered_By_Plants

You never have to wait for a particular time to make a change. Don't wait until the next week, next month, or next year. Hell, don't wait until tomorrow. Do it now! If you get derailed, acknowledge the set back and get back to it. If all else fails, have an 80s music living room dance party.

@bookworm54 @Julsmarshall have any positivity to share?

#changes @Megabooks

I think I‘ve put more thought into what I read - when I know I‘m gonna be telling ppl what I‘ve read and why, I‘m more inclined to choose things I‘m gonna want to talk and post about, rather than ‘well this is here I‘ll read it‘.

Ive also been feeling more enthusiasm for books, just being more obsessed with them the way I was when I was younger. The excitement here is so contagious. That‘s my fave thing

KathyWheeler The excitement about books and reading is my favorite thing about Litsy too. 6y
Megabooks It‘s definitely more exciting reading now! I love reading other people‘s thoughts and sharing my own. 😁💙 6y
marleed Like you said! 6y
Geeklet Absolutely! I also have found myself more engaged in my hobby. I follow new releases more closely. 6y

📚I read more.📚I read things I wouldn‘t usually read. 📚I‘ve made a ton of virtual book buddies 📚I listen to more audiobooks 📚I still don‘t do comics or graphic novels. 😂😂😂#changes

TheSpineView I am not into comics or graphic novels. I miss all the words. 6y
Samplergal @TheSpineView Unpopular opinion, but imho,it‘s not a book. It‘s a different art form , just not a book. 6y
Megabooks Sounds fantastic!! I forgot that I started reading graphic novels, but I haven‘t read one in awhile. Nothing is right for everyone, though. 6y

RamsFan1963 @Samplergal You could say the same for audiobooks as comics & graphic novels. I consider them books because they require active participation. Audiobooks, which I use and love don't get me wrong, are passive in nature. 6y
Samplergal @RamsFan1963 No, because it is language. The written word. Someone is just reading it to you. It‘s just digitalized. The graphic nature of comic books and graphic novels is visual. It‘s just my opinion. 6y
Sweetkokoro I have a question, while I respect your opinion on graphic novels, I am curious do you feel the same way about childrens books that use art, do you consider them to be books? (such as Corduroy, and Paddington Bear, etc), Books like that also use images to help portray the story the same way as graphic novels/comics do. I feel they fall into a between category, they are art but also books. I‘m just curious is all, I hope that is alright. 6y
Samplergal @Sweetkokoro most definitely I do. They are a different genre. They are also age based. One would expect pictures in young books to help convey the message. Graphic novels are typically for tweens and up, in my experience. So using graphics would enhance more adult like themes. Kind of a middle ground. They are just a different genre. Apples and Oranges. What I have difficulty with is novels, such as TKAM in graphic form. No.Not a novel. (edited) 6y
Samplergal @Sweetkokoro I‘ve got a dear friend who is a librarian and we discussion this at least once a month. We both see the appeal, the need, the “bridging “ but the adult novels that the author has written aren‘t there any longer. Just my opinion. 6y
Sweetkokoro I do agree that pictures help convey a story, and that‘s why I personally feel graphic novels are books, as they use images to help tell the story, just like a child‘s book. Regardless of who the graphic novel is aimed for it does the same thing, it just combines two forms of art and I find that amazing. Not only that some people respond better to visually seeing a story unfold and for that I am glad some novels have been made graphic novels. 6y
Sweetkokoro Full novels aren‘t for everyone, and if graphic novels are another way for someone to read then I will always support it. Just like a child‘s picture book is considered a book a graphic novel is too. They aren‘t for everyone, but I get very disheartened when I hear people say they aren‘t classified as a book, but I respect their opinions as it‘s theirs and not mine. 6y

Love this! @Megabooks #changes

Since joining this fabulous community 3 years ago, my reading habits have changed a ton!

📚 I read A LOT more (about triple).
🎧 I previously did not listen to audiobooks and now they make up about half of my reading.
🎨 I read graphic novels.
📖 I read more new releases.

Megabooks I could say all of those things, too. It‘s just amazing what a difference having people to talk about books with has made! And I have no idea what I did before audiobooks!! I guess there was just silence when I did laundry 😆 6y
britt_brooke @Megabooks 😆 Same here! I no longer mind doing laundry. Sometimes I even look forward to it. 6y

First book of the readathon. I don't know why I thought this was a 24-in-48 thing; I'm so not going to get to read 24 straight, but I've decided to use my weekend to start catching up with the six (six!) books I've missed in the Collegium/Spy series. Valdemar is a great place to spend extended periods of time, and it gives me fond memories of mainlining the entire series the summer between my first and second years of college.

Reviewsbylola I will be lucky to get in 8 hours of reading. I've never come close to reading the entire 24 hours before. 8y
