If H.P. Lovecraft and Scooby Doo had a baby, and then that baby grew up to break out of an insane asylum and found the Necronomicon, that is the best way to describe this book. I loved it, from start to finish.

This book is insane, in all the best ways. One second it's totally H.P. Lovecraft, and the next scene it's Scooby Doo! I'm having so much fun with this book.
Loved this book! The nerdisms and eighties references were so spot on and funny, and I loved how Wade keeps a lot of his innocence and sense of fair play about him, even when giving in would have made things so much easier. Plus, any book that makes a Ghostbusters 2 reference in the first two pages has my vote! 👍👍👍👍
I was reading the last hundred pages of this book while on break at work, and had to stop reading because I was about to cry and I didn't want to start sobbing in the break room. Finished it as soon as I got home and sobbed for a good 20 mins. Such a good book. Highly recommend not just this series, but everything by this author.
I don't usually read any romance, but the fact that this is based off of One Hundred and One Nights intriqued me enough to pick it up, and I'm so glad I did! Shazi and Kalid and their journey to find each other, and their fight for a future together is amazing. This book is so well written that it just flows effortlessly, and had several passages that I had to read several times just because they were so perfectly beautiful. READ THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!
My haul from Barnes & Noble. In my defense, I was left unsupervised! 😊
So, I picked this up after it sat on my shelf for over a year (I kept pushing it back for favorite authors) but I'm enjoying it a lot. It's huge, but the individual books are short, so I'm slogging through.
This is an amazing book, and an amazing series! It is a new take on Greek mythology, with the main character Ravirn being a descendant of one of the Fates. He's sarcastic and funny, and readily admits to being an immortal 'lightweight'. But when he realizes that some things are worthing fighting fate for, he's more than willing to pit his brains and tech against whatever the God's can throw at him.
This is one of my all time favorite books, one I can read again and again! Mel and her brother Bran revolt against their king, only to find a revolt already in progress. Then Mel finds herself in a new court that she helped create but doesn't understand, and struggling to understand her relationship with Vidanric, the new king. The e-book has a special extra that retells some keys scenes from Vidanric's point of veiw.
I pre-ordered this on Amazon, and it came today! I'm so excited, because Neil Gaiman is one of my favorite authors! 😊😊😊😊 ( My nook is fighting me and won't let me upload a photo, but it's gorgeous!)
My Christmas present to myself. It's called a 'book seat' and it holds your book open, plus doubles as a travel pillow, and has a pocket to hold reading glasses! I love using it to hold my book so I can read and crochet at the same time.
It's snowing like crazy outside, and I have two days off. Hello books!
WOW! If you love hard sci-fi, read this book! It's got everything: aliens, abandoned alien bases, and a trip to Mars! The characters are funny and loveable: you panic when one is in danger, and are relieved when they turn out ok. The book isn't too long, a little over 400 pages, and is fast-paced. I definetly recommend for any sci-fi fans out. For anyone else, if you haven't tried any sci-fi before, start with this book!
Honestly, I have no idea how to rate this book. The beginning was good, the ending was action-packed and exciting, but the middle... eh. I found myself drifting off into other thoughts and had a hard time following the story. Little disappointed, but the ending was good, so glad I forced myself to finish. I think the story could have been cut down a little.
So I finished my newest Mercedes Lackey book last night, and jumped from fantasy right into hard sci-fi with Boundary. The story of a paleontologist who discovers the fossil of an honest-to-god alien sucked me in almost instantly. I'm already half-way done! Next, find my Nocturnal book and try to read some of that.☺
Just finished this book. Highly recommend if you like history. Some knowledge of the history of England is recomended but not required. But all the Edwards gets a little confusing!
For anyone who have never read Mercedes Lackey, I recommend starting here! The book is set in an alternate history in which the Library of Alexandria was never burned and so the world never lost magic. In 16th century Venice, sweet, good natured Marco, and his younger brother, the clever street thief Benito, must pick sides when their city is threatened by black magic and treason. One of my favorites!
