so-so4th book of 2019. Finished 3/9/19
A quick good read. Some of the poems felt inspiring and empowering while others highlighted the pains of breakups. Really enjoyed reading poetry from a man‘s perspective.
Some of the poems started to feel a bit repetitive, wish that a broader range of emotions was explored.
This book shouts for me and other women who have been neglected and abused by someone who was supposed to be anything and everything but.
Every time I read this my heart flutters and my soul screams out with joy. I feel powerful 💪

pickHad a job interview at a used bookstore today. I felt awkward about hanging around the bookstore afterwards so I went to the Barnes and Noble down the street and read this cover to cover. I dug it ✌🏾it was nice to read poetry from a man of color.
so-soMeh. It was okay. I've come to the realization that I should get back to writing poetry and publish a book, since it's such a fad lately. Also, why do all the recently published poetry books have to have at least a few poems about oral sex? Seems odd. Pictured were a few of the ones I liked. This collection is mostly about break ups.
