This is very much a typical festive story. It was a good plot with some drama at times which made the story better. There are many hilarious bits in it which boosted my rating especially the scene with Daisy hearing Penny. The ending was good and I enjoyed it.
My first of Holly Martin's, I really enjoyed this dynamic of single dad with teenage daughter meeting the single and lonely ice sculptor, Penny. Cute, funny, inappropriately hilarious at some points. A light, fluffy Christmas time read.
"I'm just going to enjoy a quiet morning reading." said no mother ever. ? #mommyjustwantstoreadherbook
Raspberry thumbprint cookies are my favorite. With coffee and a book, pure heaven. What's your favorite cookie?
I literally finished my book, set it down, picked up my phone and a notification was there saying my next one was ready to check out! Serendipity!
A little too heavy on the instalove, but still adorable. #romantsy

Pick any of the ones pictured above. But that is not the worst of it. While scrolling through my eBooks I found several eBooks I bought twice - US and UK edition.

PS: I remember why I bought the books by Holly Martin, my daughter's Kindergarten friend goes by that name.
This was the perfect, cosy, romantic Christmas read I was wanting and hoping for. I'll definitely be reading more of Holly's Christmas books over the coming years 🎄😊
This was a bit too twee for me... 😁 The main characters, Penny and Henry really got on my last nerve. I felt like their relationship was rushed. Henry's fixation on his daughter's happiness was really, REALLY irritating! I didn't hate it, I liked the first half but the second half was a chore 😁 The side story with Henry's boss could have been MUCH more interesting! Tip: Don't read if you don't don't like corny predictable endings 🙄
This isn't badly written, but it's so repetitive that it felt padded - like there was enough material for a novella but her editor wanted a full novel in time for Christmas publication. I went in expecting Aga Saga but it's really pretty straight-up romance, which is not my thing.
The author's true gift is that she's genuinely funny. That's what kept this from being a pan. If you are a fan of cozy English village romance, you may love this.
Punctuation matters. I would not want to be referred to as "surprisingly old Ann."
This was exactly what I needed to read these past few days, romantic, Christmas and snow! #chiclit #christmasnovel #kindle
Awful day at work and I forgot my book at home today so started this festive read on the bus and it's exactly what I needed. Quick light read #chicklit
I started reading this today. I'm 70 pages in and I'm already completely in love with it!
Christmas book buying! This sounds exactly like my kind of book, cosy and romantic 😊 Can't wait to read it!
