Started my #24in48 readathon with this breezy new series from RJ Koreto, which features Alice Roosevelt (daughter of President Theodore R) Alice is 17 here & guarded by Secret Service “cowboy” Joseph St. Clair, investigates the nefarious doings related to the assassination of President McKinley in Buffalo. It‘s a light read, with a provocative lead. Alice is, by turns, charming & so full of privilege you want to slap her. A promising new series.

This is an entertaining historical mystery. I love this time period! It was a fun read!

Sometimes it seems like all historical mystery protagonists are feisty. It gets a little anachronistic. Surely not all women were feisty and rebellious! But I really enjoyed Alice in the Assassin. I think it was because I know that Alice was a real person and she *was* feisty. She did smoke and visit her bookie and behave in unconventional ways. #historicalmystery #mystery #cozymystery #newyork

Still counting down the months ("2") until the first the first mystery novel starring Teddy Roosevelt's daughter Alice solving crimes debuts. #historicalheroines

Pretty good mystery. Alice Roosevelt certainly makes an interesting character (she is the reason I wanted to read this book), but I found it hard to believe that the 17 year old daughter of the President, along with her Secret Service bodyguard, would be running around New York City investigating very dangerous killers involved in the assassination of President McKinley while telling everyone she interrogated that she was the President's daughter.

Left Super Bowl party after halftime and now doing what I really want to do - reading. This is an ARC of a historical mystery starring Alice Roosevelt, Theodore Roosevelt's unruly daughter. I like the cover.

I am already becoming proactively disappointed that there is no way that a historical mystery where Teddy Roosevelt's daughter Alice solves crimes in 1902 New York could possibly be as amazing as I desperately want it to be. Thank you @irregularreader for tipping me off to its expected existence!
