I ❤️ #historicalheroines! Top row, L to R: Katherine of Aragon; Anne Boleyn; Mary, Queen of Scots; Katherine Swynford (Mistress of the Monarchy is not fiction, but I recommend it to anyone who's into Cousins' War/Tudor history like I am.)

Bottom row, L to R: Helen of Troy; Aurelia, Servilia, and Julia (mother, mistress and daughter of Julius Caesar); Artemisia Gentileschi; black women mathematicians of the early space program. #feistyfeb day 18

Emma of Normandy was queen to two of England's kings, mother to two others and great-aunt of William the Conqueror. She arrived in England as the pawn of a political marriage and her machinations altered the course of Anglo Saxon/Viking Britain. #HistoricalHeroines #FeistyFeb

Melissa_J Great pick! Have you read any fiction about her? Helen Hollick's The Forever Queen is a good one. 7y
drokka I found this one to be an informative book about that time period too, beyond Emma. 7y
LeahBergen @Melissa_J I actually read The Forever Queen right before I read this. 👍🏼 7y

#feistyfeb #fanfichomage AND #historicalheroines... It counts, right? 😂 Okay, maybe not, but I'm exhausted, y'all. We've been renovating an old storage room into a playroom for the little one, and it's been a lot of manual labor. We finally finished tonight and I'm so relieved! It's such a warm and cozy room with great natural lighting, so expect pictures of my new reading spot. ☺

#feistyfeb #day18 #historicalheroines There's three historical heroines in this book. Maria Merian, who discovered the truth about metamorphosis in insects & painted it, Mary Anning, who discovered fossils that would change our view of the past & Maria Mitchell, who's fascination with stars led her to discover a new comet. Heroines of science all. This book about their lives is so beautiful, and it's written in prose.

TrishB And a gorgeous cover 💗 7y
