This tale explores what would happen if the worlds of bake-off challenges, independent wrestling, and zombies collide. I prefer the author‘s more serious stuff, but this was some ridiculous fun.

@Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks - thanks for hosting, this was more fun than expected and I added a bunch of titles to my never-ending TBR list in the process!
I never dreamed a book about soccer moms, wrestlers, a small town bake-off, and zombies could be so good, but Jones is a master of his craft and this book is so much fun to read! 💚💚💚
If you're a fan of B-horror movies and live for those hilarious, cheesy moments, you'll love this book. 😁
A comedy-horror tale that involves zombies, soccer moms, wrestlers, and baked goods? Sign me up! As one can expect by the theme and major players, this was on the lighter side of things…fun but not deep. I‘m impressed by the fact that there‘s so much variety in Stephen Graham Jones‘s work. 3.5/5

*baked goods on the cover*
Started this one today as my #booked2021 ‘baked goods on the cover‘ prompt. 🧟♀️🍩😉
It took some effort to search for August‘s #ReadWithMrBook to have ppl leave you alone. Tagged book seemed suitable as a “Do Not Disturb” while I experiment in the kitchen with the latest TikTok recipe Cloud Bread.
After today, Terry can say #sheworkshardforhermoney. A single mother, struggling to balance her kids with her job of running a convention center on the big day of Recipe Days!!! Unfortunately, all the moms and grandmas, showing off their cakes and cookies, will meet their match when the impatient wrestlers who show up early for a show, unknowingly eat zombie maggot infested donuts. It was an entertaining, brain candy kinda read. #FierceFeb.
Dolly Parton told a story that when she was little, she remembers seeing streetwalkers with her mom and grandma. She saw how they were dressed and liked it a lot. She hears her grandmother telling her mom that those girls were trash. She didn't say anything but thought to herself, "Well I guess I wanna be trash." That's what this was, wonderful, entertaining, zombie wrestlers vs. soccer moms trash. And I'd go dumpster diving with SGJ any day.
