I loved all the Ramona books as a kid, and I loved this one the most (except for the tin can stilts in Ramona and her Father!) I remember feeling bittersweet, because at the time, this was the last book in the series. Probably the first series I read where a felt like the main character was one that I would have loved to meet in real life and rereading was like visiting them again!

Another good instalment. Didn‘t pick the marriage between Aunt Beatrice and Uncle Howie - he did seem pretty obnoxious at times - but we enjoyed hearing more about Ramona and family. Beatrix says ‘It was lovely. I love love loved it.‘
Decided to check out a few of my favorite Beverly Cleary books in honor of her passing. It will be fun revisiting the worlds and the characters she created while remembering how much these books meant to me as a young person. 💕📚💕 Rest in peace, Beverly!
Rest in Peace, Beverly Cleary. Every year since about 2nd grade I‘ve read my favorite Ramona book on your birthday. I didn‘t even miss a year during my wild college days or my first years as a mom! This is my original copy from 1990. It‘s always been prominently displayed on a shelf wherever I‘ve lived. I cherish it. Tonight I‘ll read it a couple of weeks early in honor of you. Thank you for sharing your gifts. I‘m forever grateful.

pickI‘m not sure if Beverly intended this to be the last one, but it is the last one I read. The next and final one came out 15 years later when I was in college! These 7 span 1968-84, so Gen X kids were the original readers.
Ramona finishes up third grade and both her mother and her aunt have big surprises! Her dad finishes school but can‘t find a job teaching. Beezus is now old enough to watch Ramona after school and to have teenage problems!
#7days7books very belated day 7 post. Books that had a deep impression and changed me. I had the hardest time picking, but decided to go with the tagged book. The Ramona books were the first chapter books I read on my own and I adored Ramona. These books made me a life long reader. Also belated happy birthday to Beverly Cleary!

pickRamona and Beezus take on greater responsibilities and prepare for a couple of happy surprises. As always these books tackle children‘s emotions, relationships to one another and to grown-ups in a realistic and relatable way. Love how they take on the regular events of life - pets, babysitting, budgets, etc... much love for Ramona. My almost 6 year old has enjoyed this series a lot. I️ saved my copies so I️ get to share the exact one I️ read.
If I could meet any living author, it would have to be Beverly Cleary. I read my first Ramona book at age 6 and have been reading like crazy ever since. Thank you Beverly Cleary for unforgettable characters like Ramona. @Liberty #KostovaGiveaway
