Hello Litsy!! My hiatus took a little longer than expected, but I‘m back!! Many thanks to everyone who wished me luck on the GRE. I finally took the test this afternoon and I‘m happy to say I don‘t have to take it again 😃 Looking forward to getting back into the swing of things! 📚 💕

I can‘t believe it‘s been 3months since I was last here! My last post was my family on vacation, enjoying the beginning of summer. 4days after returning home, we were in the hospital. My hubs, my best friend had a stroke. Tho minor, it rocked our world. It took 3months of intense pt/ot, but he is 90% back to pre-stroke status and we couldn‘t be happier! And, I‘m getting back to ‘outside‘ life again!

Now, where‘s my book!?

Hey Littens, I hope all is well with you guys. I'm finally feeling better physically. The tiny human in my womb is still draining me of all energy but I'm making it. Yet another school shooting here in the US is taking its toll mentally. One bright spot of the day, I participated in my first ever panel discussion: Women & Diversity Today. Great discussion, literally could've done it all day. Maybe the first of many?

Hello dear Litsy friends. As I look back over 2017 I see huge swings in my reading habits due to life, college, kids and mood. The best bits of the year it is definitely entwined with the most bookish litsyish bits of the year. My Litsy friends inspire me, support me and lead me astray (when you talk about books I just can‘t live without regardless of how much college work I have to do!) 2018 I plan to be more consistently Litsy! Happy New Year❤️

Jess_Read_This @emmekamalei I've read Gatsby about 5 times now. Maureen Corrigan, who I adore as a Gatsby expert, says she tries to read it once a year. I've listened to it twice one audio w different narrators- highly recommend! I'll be honest- I'm just diving into Fitzgerald's works and biographies of both him and Zelda. I'd either read some of his short stories- like Berenice Bobs Her Hair or read is first novel that put him on the map: This Side of Paradise.

Jess_Read_This @emmekamalei Oh! One short work that I haven't read yet but it came highly recommended to me by another Fitzgerald lover is Magnetism. It's part of Penguin's Great Loves series. She said it's just beautiful. It's a short book that has some of his short stories- Magnetism and Berenice Bobs Her Hair in it.
