Zero Day: A Novel | Ezekiel Boone
21 posts | 15 read | 9 to read
In the thrilling, nerve-wracking finale of Ezekiel Boones hair-raising (Parade) Hatching series, the United States goes to war against the queen spiders that threaten to overtake the human race forever. The world is on the brink of apocalypse. Zero Day has come. The only thing more terrifying than millions of spiders is the realization that those spiders work as one. But among the government, there is dissent: do we try to kill all of the spiders, or do we gamble on Professor Guyers theory that we need to kill only the queens? For President Stephanie Pilgrim, its an easy answer. Shes gone as far as she canmore than two dozen American cities hit with tactical nukes, the country torn asunderand the only answer is to believe in Professor Guyer. Unfortunately, Ben Broussard and the military men who follow him dont agree, and Pilgrim, Guyer, and the loyal members of the government have to flee, leaving the question: whats more dangerous, the spiders or ourselves?

Too much personal drama and barely spiders. I take this down for while and start again when I am in the mood.
At this point this series a huge downfall for me. I loved the first book very much, the second was okey but very lame, I hoped the third one would be better but now I give up.

This book concludes the series about spiders that took over the world. Overall, it‘s been a good series and this book wrapped everything up nicely. I like how the story frequently flowed between the lives of the multiple characters and their circumstances; it kept me engaged. Definitely lots of drama and action as they fought to end the spider infestation. #MountTBR

I‘m taking advantage of our few days of iced tea weather! Also, apparently it‘s been twenty years since I graduated high school. Ugh! (The cup is from high school.)

Very good ending to the Hatching series. Boone somehow makes the spiders even more creepy and dangerous, while balancing several story lines simultaneously. There aren't as many spider scenes as in the first two books, but the ones that are here are terrifying. Good October read.

2/5🕸🕷. Blah. Predictable ending and it was a slog to get there. There were maybe 20 pages or less that were action packed. I could have not read this book and been okay not finishing the trilogy.

I enjoyed it. I kinda missed the massive amount of killer spider action but it was still a creepy and tense read 🕷

MayJasper Goid for you. I am not good with creepy or scary 😞 7y

I love this series! It's so much fun. All of the stories and all of the characters are great. The author does a great job of building suspense. Great ending to a great trilogy.

First off, I had a great time reading the first 2 books in this trilogy. Fast-paced, loads of fun and good spider action. So imagine my surprise when I found myself struggling a bit here and there with the finale. A bit disappointing considering. It was just ok.

I loved The Hatching and Skitter, this was an amazing book to finish the series. If you're afraid of spiders this is the perfect book for a Halloween read. This series is one I'd love to gift everyone I know.

I don‘t often drink wine (I‘m a microbrew ale fan) but I really wanted a drink last week and this tiny bottle was all that was in the house. But it‘s still unopened.....because I can‘t get the screw top off. 🤣🤣 And it‘s posing with my advance reader of Zero Day, the third in the Hatching series. #readingresolutions #wineandbook

I am so disappointed! 😞 I loved the first two books of this series! Could not put them down. I hate spiders and it was just enough gore, with tons of action and a great plot. I don‘t know what happened. The plot lost all intensity, there was barely any action and the gore that made me squirm, disappeared entirely. I wanted this to be great and instead I struggled to finish.

Thanks Netgalley for this book for an honest review.

rachelm I hate it when that happens 😓 7y
TheNextBook @rachelm I got it and pushed it all the way to the front of the line... then this... 7y

One of my best friends is out so I havent been able to read this as quickly as I would have usually but... I am 100 pages in and all the stuff I loved about the first two books is lacking! I‘m disappointed so far. Barely any action, barely any spiders. Just humans being human and not very interesting... I‘m just hoping it picks up!

Riveted_Reader_Melissa I hate it when that happens to a series.... fingers crossed it gets better for you! 7y
TheNextBook @Riveted_Reader_Melissa I know! And I have been waiting for this book because I thought the last two were highly entertaining! Here‘s to hoping the last two thirds of this is much better 7y

This just became available on Netgalley and I have it and I want to go home and read it right now but I already have a book that I wanted to start and I have to hold myself back from reading this until I finish this other book! 🤣😆 I just want to read it! I'm going to find a way to get this read soon! Really soon!
