While on the surface this looks like it would a Christmas romance but it is so much more than that… raw and real, it deals with love, abandonment and moving on from our childhoods! Beautifully written and presented!
This was a quick read. I finished it in a few hours and I really enjoyed it. I wanted to read at least one Christmas book this month and I‘m glad this was one of them! I didn‘t know anything about this book until I saw someone post about it online and I knew I had to read it. This was a heartwarming book and it broke my heart at times. I definitely want to read the others in the Noel collection now!
The Noel Diary is amazing. I really enjoyed it. It isn't your typical romance story and there are a lot of tough topics discussed. Most people look for a feel-good escapist Christmas romance, but this one isn't like that; it's real and raw. I feel like I need to reread it to truly grasp the different angles of it.
I suppose I should give this book a pick based on the storyline of a famous writer making peace with a past where he was essentially abandoned by his mother. But nooo~~ I‘m giving it a pick because as the MC drove from Coeur D‘Alene to Salt Lake City to confront that past, he stopped in my hometown for lunch! I sure hope he had a John‘s Porkchop!
Now that my husband has declared the official start to the Christmas season, I am celebrating with this holiday read.

This is such a heart-warming book! Richard Paul Evans writes with such detail that you get sucked into the story from the very beginning. The story follows Jacob Churcher as he embarks on an emotional journey of figuring out why he wasn‘t worthy of his mother‘s love. Elyse helps him realize that he was loveable but just didn‘t have the courage to believe it. Through grace, he ends up finding the courage to fall for the woman of his dreams.
I read 12 hours this weekend and finished these 5 books. One book to go to complete my #goodreadschallenge for 2018!
I‘ve been swamped with academic reading the past two weeks. It feels good to finally get to pleasure read during my lunch!
This was my first from him, recommended to me by my wonderful coworker at the library, and I really enjoyed his writing! I‘m generally not too big on line stories, but he writes so well, I just couldn‘t put it down! It reads like a memoir at times, which was fun. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I must use my new Strand bookmark first for my next read! I will go there before I die! 😂🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 #bookmarkswap #currentread @leslieseidel
I finished The Noel Diary today. It was a quick, cute read, but I doubt I‘ll remember it in the long run. It‘s solidly forgettable for me.
This story is about an author trying to sort through the darkness of his past with the help of a few new friends and a diary to light his way. Not a cozy Christmas Hallmark story, but it makes one think about how fallible we all can be as humans when life hands us a difficult situation and about finding grace to forgive imperfections in others and ourselves.
Read this in two days :) Such a great intro to the season :) loved it so so so much I then listened to “the Christmas Box” on audio not sure if I‘ve ever cried so much to a book. Do you guys enjoy audiobooks as well ?
