I remember suffering through winters in the tight fitting sleeves in fashion then that made you feel hot but freezing at the same time. Still makes me shiver 40 years later, sitting in the tropics. 🥶And then (next page) they cut holes in the dresses‘ armpits! *shudder*

1. Being American seems to be a licence to be rude, for this author. Honestly, wouldn't you be offended, never mind nationality, in this day and age if someone said that to you the second time they ever met you (having, morever, assaulted you the first time)?

Not sure why /when I got this; turning out to be my most hated trope. Disdainful rake/ man of the world meets innocent, proper lady of society. Cue instant apathy (on her part) but instant sexual attraction (on his). We know the lady would have said ‘No‘ on many grounds - HAD SHE BEEN ASKED - but she‘s been forcefully kissed twice before the end of Ch 4.
Will probably force myself to finish ... eventually... so I can rehome this. Not looking good.

I do so love Lisa Kleypas‘s books. This is a novella about Lillian & Daisy‘s older brother Rafe featuring all the Wallflowers.

Not great. There was at least one moment with the hero that was unsettling in a very Trump "grab me by the..." kinda way ?

I had some issues with this one: "kiss them until they like it" Rafe Bowman (ugh) and the whole Marcus/Lillian thing (ugh ugh). Hannah was an ok, non-memorable heroine and the others were all there and it was nice. I did like the tin soldier thing with Rafe, but hated Lillian's inexplicable mistrust. Not my fav. #romansty #osrbc
