Randomly found this in my Kobo unread section, so I read it - or rather, I reread it because I have faint memories of a lot of this. It‘s fine. There are very few MG tales of Midwestern farmtowns, and I think Catherine Gilbert has written most of them, perhaps all of them, and soooo yeah. This one does involve Rome, so that‘s also cool. And Curtis, DJ‘s younger brother. 3.5 āļø¸.

Opened this book today and sadly realized it's not a sequel but a companion novel. I almost did not read it but decided to give it a shot. It was okay, just not the same as the rest of the Dairy Queen series. Loved the Grandma.

I'm happy I finished It. Now I can move on to my ever growing TBR list.
