Targeted by human hunters, dairnes are on the brink of extinction. Byx seems to be the last of her species, but there are legends of others. Can Byx and her newfound friends evade those who threaten them and find out the truth?
This is an engaging story that carried my children and me through a long road trip. And it passes the Bechdel Test! (If you allow for conversations in which one female isn't human.)

This little novel (and a ton of crunchy snacks) helped us through nine hours in the rental car today. We're finishing it up in our jammies in the hotel room.
A fantasy where the humans are destroying everything and everyone...or maybe an alternative reality. Imaginative, adventurous, and quite engrossing.
I want to say that I heard the audiobook but kind of wished that I would have read the physical copy better. I think I would have enjoyed it better since I heard they include pictures in there. I picked this up because i loved the one and only Ivan and Crenshaw. I loved the characters in this book and i enjoyed the story. I will probably continue with this series but in physical form.

Monster just wants to lay with me...Such a cuddle bug!
I just picked this up to look and boom already on page 102.😂
One of my favourite authors. Quite different from her other books as it is darker and more action packed. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and was excited to discover it is the first in a series. Looking forward to #2.
