I've got some audible credits, and I need some recommendations on what I should get. I'm pretty eclectic with genres, though my probable preferences tend towards sci-fi, actiony type stories, and mysteries - more into noir-ish stuff lately. But mostly I just want something that will keep me listening.

So, spam me with your favorites. Anything you loved. Starts of series, stand alones, whatever. TIA!

BarbaraTheBibliophage My fav audiobook from 2020 and perhaps all time. 2y
Traci1 @BarbaraTheBibliophage I read that in print when it came out and loved it. I may go back and listen, though, to hear how Rocky is portrayed in audio. 2y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Traci1 You may love it. Ray Porter is amazing and the audiobook producers really engage with Rocky‘s language well. 2y

jlhammar I don't read a ton of science fiction, but thought this (first in the Themis Files trilogy) was a fun and action-packed listen. 2y
jlhammar I thought this was a great audiobook. Definitely made me want to read more Connie Willis. 2y
Dragon The Murderbot series and 2y
Dragon Forgot to mention Binti is YA science fiction 2y
TieDyeDude It is non-fiction, but intersperses the author's search for information with a narrative form of the information she finds while trying to learn more about the female costume designer for the Creature from the Black Lagoon. So, sorry of a mystery 😁 2y
Kimberlone Red Rising series is fantastic on audio! 2y
KathyWheeler I love The Rivers of London series by Ben Aaronovitch. The first book is called Midnight Riot in the US. Jim Butcher‘s The Dresden Files series is also good on audio. The first book is Storm Front. They are both urban fantasy and have wizards. 2y
Lizpixie Dune is fantastic as a full cast audiobook, I‘ve listened to it a few times now. The Empire trilogy by Raymond.E.Feist & Janny Wurts(my review is a recent post)is also great on audio. A Discovery Of Witches is good as well. I highly recommend The Storyteller by Dave Grohl & All About Me by Mel Brooks. Both read by the author and are brilliant NF listens. The whole Wheel Of Time series by Robert Jordan is good on audio & The Expanse series as well. 2y
Graeme2 Bernard Cornwell novels are always good. 2y

So there used to be this publisher in the uk called the women's press that folded a while back and I always pick them up in charity shops when I see them.
They published a lot of bame writers including Alice walker way before it was on anyone's radar that this was important.
I'm looking for a list of the books and authors they published and the Internet is being annoying as hell about it. Can anyone help me? I know if anyone can its you guys!

rockpools No idea if it's everything (doubt it!) but have you seen this? https://openlibrary.org/publishers/Women's_Press,_Limited,_Thehickleberrypunchfi... 6y
Weaponxgirl @RachelO thank you, that's a good start 😀 I doesn't have any of the ones I own on it though dagnamit! I found a blog with the sci fi series of books they published if anyone is interested then I'll post later. I'm just a pain in the ass and I like to explore lesser known writers who are doing interesting stuff. 6y

Weaponxgirl @RachelO I'd just done a copy and paste jobbie 😂 hate when a hashtag cancels a link out 6y
rockpools Actually might be worth investigating that site a bit. Looks like they have umpteen entries for the Women's Press - one might be what you're after. https://openlibrary.org/search/publishers?q=Women%27s+press&has_fulltext=true 6y
Weaponxgirl @RachelO thank you so much! One of those looks exactly like what I'm looking for. They published so many interesting books and this is a great jumping off point for one of my obsessive book list moments,! I knew you guys would be the place to ask 😀 6y
RaimeyGallant Try finding out who they sold out to, because that pub may have some kind of list. 6y
