Queen of Sorrow: Book Three of the Queens of Renthia
Queen of Sorrow: Book Three of the Queens of Renthia | Sarah Beth Durst
15 posts | 14 read | 15 to read
The battle between vicious spirits and strong-willed queens that started in the award-winning The Queen of Blood and continued in the powerful The Reluctant Queen comes to a stunning conclusion in The Queen of Sorrow, the final volume of Sarah Beth Durst's Queens of Renthia trilogy.Queen Daleina has yearned to bring peace and prosperity to her beloved forest home--a hope that seemed doomed when neighboring forces invaded Aratay. Now, with the powerful Queen Naelin ruling by her side, Daleina believes that her dream of ushering in a new era can be realized, even in a land plagued by malevolent nature spirits who thirst for the end of human life. And then Naelin's children are kidnapped by spirits.Nothing is more important to her than her family, and Naelin would rather watch the world burn than see her children harmed. Blaming the defeated Queen Merecot of Semo for the kidnapping, Naelin is ready to start a war--and has the power to do it.But Merecot has grander plans than a bloody battle with her southern neighbors. Taking the children is merely one step in a plot to change the future of all Renthia, either by ending the threat of spirits once and for all . . . or plunging the world into chaos.

I finished this trilogy rather quickly because it was so good. I love seeing unusual characters rise above, like an older woman character become queen and although she‘s not perfect, I feel her so much in this book. I teared up quite a bit in this book it is so well done and very emotional. I really love these characters, this world and loved how the trilogy ended. ❤️ also that little added romance at the end was everything. Zeus 🐶📷 #dogsoflitsy

One of my Facebook groups has a 24 in 48 readathon this weekend so I‘m hoping to get through this stack and some audio reading. Starting early this morning.

It‘s nice to get through a trilogy this quick. I just picked up Queen of Sorrow yesterday but I‘m hoping to finish by Friday as I love this trilogy. Have my usual reading companion Calli to help me. #dogsoflitsy

hannah-leeloo Calli is gorgeous. Trust me my reading companions are unusual 😅 many are known on here. Happy reading sweet 📚❤️📖 5y

Yeah this series just improves with each book. I just LOVE that each book switches the main POV to a new Queen while also connecting and including the other queens. The whole relationship with the spirits is still just a little too confusing for me to fully comprehend but I loved them as a conflict! This series strength is definitely the cast (main and supporting).

Three days off and this is what I'll be doing. Although I think I'm going to give the audiobook a try so I can still get some cleaning done and some maintenance on my fish tanks.

Congrats @Mitch on such a great milestone and being so generous with this give away! I recently finished the Queen of Blood and absolutely loved it! I bought the rest of the trilogy to binge but then my reading mood changed. Now I have to wait till my epic fantasy mood comes back so I can pick this bad boy up!

I am late to the Renthia party, but MAN, am I on board! I absolutely LOVED this series of women-centered fantasy novels featuring nuanced characters, lush descriptions, and just the right amount of bloody violence. Beautiful, empowering, and engrossing. The audio editions were very well done, too, if you prefer that format. The only reason I‘m okay with finishing is access to an ARC of a new novel set in the same world. 🐉🌳🐺✨❄️

5/5 🌟s

Schnoebs I couldn‘t stop thinking about the first one so I bought the rest of the trilogy and plan on reading both once they get here! 6y

Finally, a trilogy where all three books live up to their potential! I really wasn‘t sure where this one was going to go, and continued to be unsure even as I was reading, but this was an exciting and satisfying way to wrap up the series. Not too happy, not too sad, and the author says at the end that she‘s going to write more about Renthia, so we have something to look forward to.

Congrats to Sarah Beth Durst for finishing her Queens of Renthia trilogy! As soon as THE QUEEN OF SORROW released earlier this month, I dropped everything else I was reading to binge listen to this last book. I had to know how the story ended.

Sent a kindly worded email (yeah I can be professional, who knew) and received my first ever ARC!!! It seriously couldn‘t be a better one. How am I supposed to wait 5 months for the last book in this trilogy? That, ma‘am, is not right. Thank you so much to Harper Voyager for the review copy! I‘ll be diving in as soon as my 2-year-old runs herself into a wall or her bed, it goes either way at night.

drokka Be thankful she's not G.R.R. Martin or Diana Gabaldon. 😂 7y
