pickThis book. Untraditional and unconventional. Completely on the perimeter of usual historical romance plotting. In the wake of a devastating stroke, the hero is trapped in a world of pity and silence. He cannot communicate his thoughts or feelings and has sunk into black despair and rage because of the devastating aftermath of a stroke. She is his rescuer and redemption, pretentious and prickly. A Quaker and a rake - and an epic love story.

how I'm supposed to get behind a relationship starting between a mental patient (who isn't mentally ill but they don't know that yet) and his wannabe nurse, I just can't buy into it. Or will it get better? Should I power through a few more chapters to become more interested in it?

pickChristian is a Duke and a reprobate who happens to be a mathematical genius. Maddy is a Quaker whose father is working on a mathematical treatise with the Duke. Christian has what appears to be a stroke and is carted off to an asylum. In sweeps Maddy who sees Christian is not mad but trapped. The ensuing story is heartbreaking and heartwarming. #romantsy #keeper
pickI first read this book years ago, it it stands the test of time as one of my all time favorites. Kinsale is an incredible talent, and she writes characters that make you feel, stories that make you think, and brings them together in an experience that is as enjoyable as it is sometimes profound. #OSRBC #romantsy
pickSo different! Struggled to get into it at first but then was hooked. Never expected brain injuries and Quakers in a romance novel.
