It took a while to get going and I didn‘t think the ending was great, but I enjoyed the privileged unreliable narrator.

The other mice learn to value Frederick‘s tho it differs from the kind of work they do gathering food for winter. When they are stuck in the winter gloom Frederick‘s gift of poetry and his ability to evoke the colors of spring for the other mice is a valuable contribution like the physical sustenance. Sweet, simple drawings. #bbrc #picturebooksatoz #letterF

Shaking off my #dayfromhell by dissolving into some great books. Finished this debut novel from British author Lucy Foley & I quite enjoyed it. Set on a huge estate in the Scottish Highlands At Hogmanay(NYE)it‘s a whodunnit when everyone had a reason to want her dead. Guessed it halfway through, but as a debut it‘s pretty good. I can‘t really say I liked this book. The writing was good, especially for a book in translation, but other than the middle third the story just wasn‘t that interesting! It does have a cat as a POV character, and a lot of Romanian political and military history. This is my book by an author with the same first and last initials for #popsugarreadingchallenge and my #LetterF for #LitsyAtoZ in translation

This wasn't what I expected or wanted. I was expecting a straight up fictional account of the infamous Cleveland Torso Murders, instead I got a tale that dove head first into the supernatural. I was ready to bail, especially when I saw who/what was behind the killings. Despite my reservations, it was a tense, thrilling, gruesome story that held my attention to the last page. 4 💥💥💥💥 out of 5

Who doesn't want to see a lawyer getting screwed? This little farce is basically the story of Maître Pierre Pathelin, a lawyer who, thanks to his argumentation skills and a bit of cunning, tries to get some cloth for free. But when he thinks he won it all, karma will put everything back in its place.
I laughed. A lot.

I‘ve never seen a graphic novel quite like this before! Great sketches and drawings, part cartoon part realism, cool mystery. I wish there weren‘t a cliffhanger ending, but at least that means there‘s a sequel coming! Thank you Holly!
