Revamped my #Bookspin list for the second half of the year. I managed to clear 8 books off my shelves in 6 months which is so much more than I expected this year!! 😁 I'm going with my #doublespin choice for July first because I pulled the new books after the numbers came out. 🌞

Well worth reading if you are a fan of Truman, this book contains about 15 short stories that Truman wrote in his late teens and early 20s. These are very short, but most of them are pretty interesting. A handful of them are a tease because there was so much room to expand the story. You can't really go wrong reading anything by Truman. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #trumancapote

Cathythoughts I am a fan ! Sounds good 👍 7y
JenlovesJT47 @Cathythoughts I'm working my way through all of his books, I haven't been disappointed yet! 7y

I love to read short stories and these are some of my favorite. I loved them all kind of like Hemingway's short stories. I think you appreciate authors more when you read their early works and short stories. 5 for 5 stars.

After reading Other Voices, Other Rooms, I became completely obsessed with Truman Capote. I decided that his early stories, the ones from a young Capote, was a very good start. Next up is In Cold Blood.

LeahBergen I had my own Capote obsession for a while, too. 👍🏼 8y

He's the king of creepy stories (clearly, even as a young kid).

Has anyone else read this? The stories (so far) are short which I love and I'm enjoying it. I like short story collections only if they have two things: stories are all same length and the stories are short.

krpotts I loveeee Truman Capote, especially his short stories/novellas. Since this collection is from his childhood (I think the earliest story is from when he was 11), it can get pretty cheesy and shock and awe-y. But it's definitely fun to see his roots and his progress as a writer! 9y
Notafraidofwords @krpotts yes, I do see something there growing as a writer in the short stories. 9y
Jamesmelvinmitchell @Notafraidofwords if you like stories like these you would love a book by Hemingway called "Nick Adams stories" a real treat truly. 8y
Notafraidofwords @Jamesmelvinmitchell adding it to my list!!! 8y
