While this story is about the post-apocalyptic world filled with the undead - the message definitely resonates.

This book basically picks up years after the conclusion of The Forest of Hands and Teeth. It follows Gabry and a few others as they try to survive after a Breaker attack. Along the way, Gabry begins to discover that her entire life is basically a lie.
I‘m conflicted about this book. I like the world and enjoyed the plot twists/suspense, but the love triangle was really annoying. It was hard to look past to really enjoy the story.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was infinitely better than the first, but the new MC (the daughter of the 1st book's MC) is still annoyingly indecisive and unsure. Seems to be a running trend with these books.
This is what I came out with, from my old hometown bookstore: The second book in the A Forest of Hands and Teeth series & an ARC that they had that I‘ve been wanting to read! (They have a shelf where you can pick an ARC that they have, if you buy a full priced book!)
I like this one a little more than the first one. The book is half love triangle and half zombie apocalypse. It has action in it of course, but there‘s also a girl trying to decide which boy she wants.
This is the sequel to the forest of hands and teeth
"They ripple and swell, the bodies of the Mudo, like the ocean. Like the dead-tossed waves."
-- The Dead-Tossed Waves by Carrie Ryan
I love The Forest of Hands and Teeth series. It mixes my love for zombies with beautiful, yet haunting prose. I've always loved the titles to this series. I felt like deadtossedwaves was perfect for me. ???????

This is my Halloween #tbr pile. I have been trying to read horror-esque books all month (not that I have gotten far this month so far) and these are some of the ones I'm tackling next! I'm doing @DeweysReadathon at the weekend which will hopefully make a dint!
Already read: Carrie, and The Casebook of Victor Frankenstein

I'm looking forward to sooooo many books this month, but especially getting around to reading this one! It has been sat on my shelf for a while as the first one scared me a little and this one has some abandoned theme parks in it...
On a side note, did you know you can go airsofting in certain theme parks during seasons they are closed? 😨 Creepy!
It‘s never been a perfect world. It‘s never going to be. It‘s going to be hard and scary, and if you‘re lucky, wonderful and awe-inspiring. But you have to push through the bad parts to get to the good.
I'm working all day today, better pictures and reviews will have to be put off till tomorrow! 😩 how is everyones Monday going? 📚❤️
