1) can't remember which was THE first, but the tagged book was among the first. I had to learn reading the old German letters because it was pretty much a reprint of the very first edition.
2) Chernobyl and Challenger (6y/o), Berlin Wall (9y/o)

Have you read this?! "In this book disobedient children brought doom upon themselves in a variety of ways..." says Gustav in The Gustav Sonata, my most recent read. I keep stumbling across references to Struwwelpeter and feel like it's following me around, daring me to read it ??
These books, called Beaverdimes, were sold in drugstores and gas stations across Canada in the 1950s and 60s for ten cents. Some classic kidlit #cheapthrills.
