Today @MidnightBookGirl told me about this app that you can use to track your books and it makes this cool calendar. I set mine to just when finished, but they have other calendar options. App is called Bookmory. Imo it‘s not a substitute for Goodreads or StoryGraph, but it‘s pretty cool.

(I collect book apps like I collect books.)

booksaremyfavorite I just found this app as well. Loving it so far. 11mo

Hey all! I have been working on a masters paper about young adult LGBTQIA books and how important they are for teens to be able to see themselves and/or people they care about in books. I have reviewed a couple on here, but not all of them. I have gotten great feedback on the others and would love to share more of these books with everyone!

Are there any above that you would like reviews about? I would gladly review them and promote them! 💙💙💙

Booksblanketsandahotbeverage How was Red Scrolls of Magic? 😁 12mo

July in Review! Pretty good reading month. Two DNF and an average star rating of 3.68. Best of the month was definitely The Change.

5feet.of.fury The Change was soooo good! 2y

July in Review!

Pretty solid reading month for me, best was a toss up between Bad Blood and Nora Goes Off Script.

I'm so happy that May is over and we've moved on to June! Summer has officially started and I'm hoping to get a large amount of audiobooks in as I do things around the house and go on my big (and expensive lol) road trip!

I'm also going to a cabin in the mountains next weekend with some friends. So excited to take the time to relax and decompress.

March was a wild month for me and I didn't get a ton of reading in. What I did read I enjoyed though!

Not as many books this month, but that's ok. I survived! Best of the month by far was The Pick-Up.

Question: What‘s the consensus about reviewing a book that you bailed on? DO you review or not?

Traci1 Depends on why I bailed. If it's spectacularly bad in some way that made me bail, I might. If I'm just not feeling it or it's just not my cup of tea, I don't. 3y
Lreads What @Traci1 said. 3y
robinb @Traci1 @QuietlyLaura That‘s what I had in mind too. While I did think it had multiple issues, I‘ve noticed that (so far) it hasn‘t gotten any other really negative reviews. So, maybe it is just me. 🤷🏻‍♀️ (edited) 3y

Megabooks Agree with ⬆️. If I feel my bail might help others decide whether to read it, then I review it. If it‘s just boring or I‘m not in the mood, then I don‘t. 3y
wanderinglynn Yeah, I‘m with @Traci1. If I bailed because the story, plot, character development or something else with the book, then I review it. If I bailed because of me, then I don‘t consider that a bail so much as a not-right-now. 3y
TiredLibrarian I sometimes get ARCs to review, and I feel obligated to review those whether I liked them or not (since that's the whole point of distributing them). In that case, I'll review something I didn't enjoy, gently. If it's a "not right now" or "just me," I say that in the review. ? 3y
robinb @TiredLibrarian do you feel obligated to finish those arcs if it feels like it‘s going to be torturous? 3y
TiredLibrarian @robinb If it's that bad, I just can't. I believe life's too short to read bad books. Doesn't mean I don't feel bad about it, though. 😕😊 3y
robinb @TiredLibrarian Thanks. 👍 Normally I struggle through because of my guilt feelings about giving up, but I‘ve begun forgiving myself because 1. It happens rarely and 2. Life‘s too short. 3y

Thanks for the #Two4Tuesday tag, @Eggs !

1. I don‘t seek out reviews specifically for my own review-writing prep, but since I often read a few right when I start a book, I‘m aware of others‘ opinions when I pen my own response.

2. They don‘t impact my rating, but if I‘ve seen several people mention an issue I might address it in my own review.

TheSpineView Thanks for playing and happy Tuesday! 🌞🤗📖❤📚 3y

This is my #NetGalley situation this year.
I managed to read (or at least get to) basically all the new requests (l've been very careful to request only books l really thought l was going to read). The upper part presents all old ARCs.

I hope to read a few of them during the August #NetGalleyReviewathon

#NetGalleyReviewathon @sprainedbrain

I've been so bad at reading challenges in the last year... and in reading in general, l'd say. Thought l've been able to clear almost the entire log of my newly requested #NetGalley book.
But do we want you talk about my older requests?
So this is my goal for August: clear as many 'old' ARCs as possible.

sprainedbrain I‘m glad you‘re joining, and thanks for sharing! Good luck with those old ones. 😅 4y
JazzFeathers @sprainedbrain Let's hope to make a dent. Some of those stories have been waiting a review for two years 😶 4y

My TBR (to be reviewed) for #Netgalley #Reviewathon 7/22-8/30. This is a small fraction of books I have ready to read and review. I hope to jump in whole heartedly in August as I am still celebrating #Julybrary right now.

Feeling personally attacked by Netgalley‘s new readathon! 😂 Anyone else SUPER behind in their #Netgalley reviews? 🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️

Reecaspieces Wow! I am so behind! 5y
Hestapleton @Reecaspieces I think I have like 60-ish books in my backlog? And I keep requesting. 🙃 5y
The_Heeler_Booklife I feel attacked...I may have 100 some books to read. 😬 5y
LibrarianRyan Yes. But I'm trying. I read 4 during the readathon. 5y
Birdsong28 Yes but then I get invited to read books via Netgally so then my older books get pushed back. 📚📖 5y

I have SO MANY ARCs to catch up on that it's getting ridiculous! So in November I'm focusing on reading and reviewing Netgalley books. It might help me with my book- buying problem too 😅

britt_brooke 😬 Good luck!! I need to probably tackle a couple myself. 5y
Moray_Reads @britt_brooke I can't resist them! 5y
britt_brooke @Moray_Reads I won‘t allow myself to browse very often because I know I‘ll request too many. 5y

JazzFeathers That's a problem l know very well. And thought l don't know how to solve it, l am at least trying to dam it 😏 5y
