Our local public library recommend, among others, this based on a form that asked question on preferences in fiction and TV series.
This is the first in the Nikki Griffin series. She is part Jessica Jones and part Lisbeth Salander, a PI who owns a bookstore and beats up men who abuse their partners. Based in CA and fast paced with a nice solution, there are some interesting characters. Will read the series. #recommendedbyalibrarian #eccentricMC

Do you like to do do buddy reads? I‘m finding that this is definitely my favorite way to discuss a book! I‘ve been looking forward to this story for a while and since I ended up with two copies, I asked my daughter if she‘d like to buddy read it with me. I think we‘ll be starting tonight or tomorrow! I also have buddy reads for Neverwhere and The Haunting of Ashburn House coming up and I‘m really excited about those!

A gloomy October Saturday morning: ideal weather for curling up with coffee and a stack of books!
I'm about halfway through the tagged book and hoping to finish it today.

Well. It was okay. I had to look it up to confirm my suspicion that this was written by a man. The female voice just wasn‘t very convincing. (Don‘t get me wrong, many authors successfully write the opposite sex, but they intentionally hid the authors name.) Every once and awhile there would be a sentence or two that just took me out of it. The story is interesting enough, but the writing style is bad.

Did anyone else preorder one of these Page Anchors? I finally started using this yesterday and it‘s a game changer for reading on my lunch/in bed. Takes a little getting used to but IM OBSESSED.
