pickMy oldest son is 8 and it‘s a whole new world for us…he‘s growing up on me! I‘m on a mission to understand him and his obsession with screens of all types. I went into this book not knowing what the “spin” would be, so I was surprised at how much Shapiro advocated for the use of technology. I learned a bit and got some reassurance that it‘s normal (and in some ways beneficial) for kids to be obsessive about gaming, social media and YouTube.
TheBookgeekFrau Stacked! ... I have a 2 1/2 yo granddaughter and I'm just baffled at how much has changed for kids since I raised my own daughter!! I'm supposed to be old and wise damn it🤣😂🤣 2y
BarbaraBB In some ways certainly. But I still am disappointed that my kids didn‘t end up being readers (except during holidays). God knows I tried 😂 but it‘s always the screens 🤦🏻♀️ 2y
Chelsea.Poole @TheBookgeekFrau oh I know! Even in just the 25 years between my childhood and my kids‘ is outrageously different. Our technology is advancing at rapid speeds and parenting has changed because of it! 2y
Chelsea.Poole @BarbaraBB oh I feel you! I‘ve got an 8 year old who likely has dyslexia so the harder I push books the more frustrated we both become 😢 but I have hopes for my 6 year old who has much more of an interest, if he can sit still long enough 😆 2y
