Wonderful middle grade book about friendship and family. Roz is feared by the wild animals until she begins to help them one by one and they learn to trust and love her.

Just picked up this middle grade book for my basketball loving kid's Easter Basket. Has anyone read it?
⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5 Stars. This book was poignant in a quiet, moving way. I love the diversity of the characters; it was natural and not in-your-face. The plot is intriguing as it takes place over the course of one day and you already know that the ending results in a new friendship, but you still want to read to discover how that happens.
"His face is scrunched up, like he's sniffing something offensive. He's got beady eyes and round cheeks and they're all shoved up together. Meanness always shows on people's faces. Sometimes you have to look hard for it. Sometimes it's just a part of a person's features. That's how it is with this Chet."

A great book. I love the land of Nevermoor and the themes of friendship and loyalty. This is a great series for those who love Harry Potter.
I joined Litsy in January 2019. I was looking for a way to find new books to read and share the reviews of books I have been reading besides Goodreads. I love how generous, kind, and supportive the community is here ❤️
Congrats @RamsFan1963 🎉

Meet Lucy. She loves on any book I happen to set down where she can reach it. I can't figure out if she loves books because I do, or because it smells like me after I've been holding it for awhile, or if this is just a weird quirk of hers.

The entire state of SD is stocking up on milk and eggs and other groceries for a huge storm rolling in tonight, but my kids' priority was getting to the library for a few days worth of reading material. We may be stuck inside under the predicted 12+ inches of snow for the next few days, but we'll be prepared!
My favorite Scout and one of my most favorite books ❤️

Happy Birthday to me from my kids! Looks like my weekend is now "booked!"
As a Cheer Mom, the only kinds of quotes that come to mind about #cheer for #QuotsyMar19 are actual cheers 🤷
And these are my two youngest kids, my cheerleader and my football player. We also cheer on my basketball, cross country, golf, and soccer playing older boys. Sports are a way of life for us 24/7 so I've had lots of practice cheering them on!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This book was beautifully written. I loved reading and purposely took my time to savor it slowly. Looking forward to reading the next book of the series.
I never thought about "common sense" in this way! I always felt it was, well, common and most people had it. Or it wasn't anything special. This new idea will be fun to ponder over.
"Every day, you have the power to choose our better history — by opening your hearts and minds, by speaking up for what you know is right." - Michelle Obama

These two boys both wanted to read the same book at the same time so they compromised and are taking turns reading it aloud to each other. This is actually a common occurrence in my house and I LOVE IT ❤️ #raisingreaders
A book just as relevant today as it was when it was first written. It explores how Wanda is bullied for being different than the other kids. The important lesson it teaches is that Maddie, who does not join in the bullying, is still guilty for not standing up and telling the other kids to stop.
"She was never going to stand by and say nothing again."
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Finally got started on our family "library." We've had books scattered in every bedroom of the house and now we have a dedicated corner of our basement family room for our books. It's like 80% books for kids, but that's mostly because I still can't quite move my stack of nightstand books two whole flights of stairs away ?
"Melancholy held me hostage, and the bees built a hive of sadness in my soul. Dark honey filled up inside me, drowning my thoughts and making it hard to move my eyes and hands."
My husband got me the perfect Valentines gift ❤️❤️❤️ I may have to drop all other books I'm currently reading and dive into this one right away!
A little literary love humor. Happy Valentine's Day ❤️
I feel that this book was written more for technophobic parents, which I don't identify as at all. I'm very pro-technology, but I do limit my children's screen time. This book has great advice for interactively teaching our children how to navigate a technological world and advocates for guiding them rather than just allowing them free rein to experience it on their own.

When you can't decide on which book to take for the school pick up run... And then realize you also have two audiobooks on your phone too! 🤦

Snow Day tomorrow due to wind chill of almost -40 degrees! Brr! 🥶 Decided to get a head start on tomorrow's lazy day by reading way past my bedtime. Excited to finally start this book!
⭐⭐⭐⭐ I enjoyed this fun, quick read. It was a good book to listen to as I painted walls and shampooed carpets over the past few days I actually enjoyed the high school cliche characters (the pretty popular girl with great hair, the brainy shy girl, the jock with a secret, and the misunderstood bad boy) and it felt like I was in high school again when all the teen movies of the 90s were popular.
This youngest child has to sit through 4 basketball games today for his older siblings. Book 3 in the Heroes in Training series to the rescue! This is a fun introduction to Greek Mythology in simple chapter book form. It's a big hit with my 6 year old and a nice change of pace from reading about Minecraft and Roblox.
Happy Saturday!
An hour and 42 minutes into this #audiobook while at the gym tonight (1.5 speed) I think keeping this as my "gym only" book will motivate me to return to the gym again soon ? I thought it would be hard to follow in audiobook form since so much of it is emails and letters, but it's not too bad.
I'm calling it on #24B4Monday. What a fun weekend! And it was nice to get a couple books off my TBR list. Looking forward to the next #readathon!
This book grabbed my attention from the first page and I couldn't put it down. Fans of Harry Potter will love it. Excited to continue Morrigan's story in the second book. 5/5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

17 hours and 3 minutes ! I don't think I'll make it all the way to 24 for #24b4Monday but I'm happy with my progress so far. There's still almost 8 hours until Midnight though, so who knows! I've also been enjoying a bowl of soup for practically every meal all weekend since I don't usually take the time to make it from scratch #24b4MondayGiveaway @TheReadingMermaid @Andrew65
Isn't it amazing how when you know you're loved you can go out into the big wide world confident in your choices and actions? That you are cheered and praised when you make good choices and supported and helped when things don't go as planned? Love lifts us up where we belong 🎶 ❤️
Loved this one. The alternating timeline was an interesting way to experience the life of Georgy. Both timelines came together quite perfectly in the end. The book was fast paced and an easy read (or listen, as I did). 4/5 Stars.
My #24b4Monday buddy. 11 hours, 9 minutes so far. Almost half way!

I've managed 4 hours and 36 minutes so far for #24b4Monday by listening to the tagged book while cleaning, organizing, running errands and eating lunch. Currently at the car wash getting the junk off my car before picking up kids at school - then my free reading time will be seriously diminished until they go to bed.

Just delivered... This is the next book for my (8 year old) daughter's Book Club. I think the cover is beautiful! Looking forward to reading this after she's finished.
Has anyone read this one yet?
My #justabookswap from the amazing @thebluestocking arrived today and I'm beyond thrilled to receive this book from my TBR list 😍😍😍 Thank you so much!!! This one is going right at the top of my To Read Next pile 😊
On my end, I'm still waiting for the book I ordered to arrive before I can mail it out. It was delayed due to weather somewhere but should come tomorrow. I hoping to get it shipped on Friday 💌
