I liked this book. It was fun to read. I had read another book by this author and enjoyed it too. I like her style and the humor that she puts into the stories.

Found another of your suggestions at the library. This one was a quick and interesting read although the ending felt a little rushed for my taste.
Some fun #JewishLit for Hanukkah! Friedland is a great author if you also enjoy families behaving badly.
Matriarch Annette Feldman has booked a 70th birthday cruise for her family. Her daughter Elise has a secret shopping addiction and wants a loan from mom and dad. Her son Freddy, who was the black sheep, owns a marijuana empire that no one knows about. Add in partners and grandkids with their own issues, things are bound to bubble over!
This family was a mess. A cringey mess. But I cared about what happened to them—even the ones that annoyed me the most. 🙂
This book: 😬😬😬
It‘s mostly like watching a slow-moving car crash. I‘m waiting for all of the secrets to collide at one of those intersections where eight or more streets meet.
I‘m a bit worried about what happens to these people. 😳
This family is a mess. And they aren‘t on the boat yet. 😳 😁
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is one crazy family that needs to learn to communicate....I wanted so to shake them sometimes. There was a whole light of laugh out loud moments. #LitsyLove
This family felt so real to me. Like watching a real life soap opera. The dynamic was so relatable. Families are amazing yet hard to take at times.
I'm glad I pushed through rather than bailing on this. After the unrelenting drama and dysfunction it was nice to see this family being honest with each other and forming truer relationships. I still can't get over how depressing I found the first 70% of this book so I can't give it a pick.
(Finished this in the theater right before watching the new Star Wars movie with The Hubs. A fun, midweek date night.)
Now the cruise director is dissatisfied with his life too??
Of the 7 Feldman's (plus Natasha plus Julian) do any of these people end up happy at the end? The misery is killing me!
I'm not bailing- yet!- on the whiney, self absorbed Feldman's but I can't deal with them any more today. Raven Black has been on my TBR for ages and it's looking really good
tonight. I'm now snuggled in bed with my tea to witness murder and mayhem in Scotland.
I started this yesterday and so far, reading how badly the generations of this family don't understand each other and don't want to spend time together just makes me sad. Does it really become funny and heart warming?
Multiple generations of a family, each with their own secrets, go on a cruise together. The tension eventually boils over when everyone‘s secrets are revealed. Not a weighty book, but a fun palette cleanser with some amusing spots that was just what I was looking for.
A lighthearted read that actually went a little too overboard (😉) towards the end of the novel. If you like reading about dysfunctional families, topped with rich people problems and a bit of #JewishHumor then this book will definitely float your boat 🛳😜 I enjoyed this story for what is was; fluff and fun. I would #BorrowNotBuy
Just enjoying a cup of serenity tea ☕️ while finishing the last few chapters of this lighthearted read. Thanks for the lovely cuppa #JohnnyBergen ‘s mom ❣️❣️❣️and those maple honey sucking candies are pretty delish as wel🇨🇦
Meh. There were layers of story line, which was good; but, I wasn't engaged by the characters. Fairly predictable ending. Could have been shorter and more/at least as effective.
I was looking forward to reading this one while on my Caribbean vacation and enjoyed it. I thought some parts were a little slow and felt a little over the top but I liked it.
The ship was an interesting vehicle for the story because it forced the characters to not only be in the same vicinity as one another, but it pushed some of the family dynamics front and centre creating some interesting situations. The exposition was painfully long and I expected more confrontations and satire. She did redeem herself with the ending, readers will be satisfied as they disembark. This book really brings out the fun in dysfunctional.
I gave this a “pick”, but it was a 3-star read for me on Goodreads.
Dysfunctional family all going on a cruise together. I expected more hilarious over-the-top situations, but it was just kinda moderate all around. 🤷♀️
Wow, I can‘t believe how much in enjoyed the book! The first few chapters were a little slow for me and I was worried I‘d enjoy the book, but then it really caught my attention and I zipped through. The family was both crazy enough to be zany, but just real enough you could relate.
Um . . . No.
