Haven't read a David Baldacci in a long while, nice to get back into one...very good
This detective novel is more realistic and had better character development than a lot of this genre. A detective revisits a murder investigation he solved years ago when events occur that suggest the man who went to prison was innocent. A good murder mystery that also explores dealing with loss, coming to grips with your mistakes, and not drowning in the past. Recommend.
This is a mediocre murder mystery. See how Baldacci feels the need to explain that Decker called his coworker the night before to set up a meeting, as if the reader might otherwise be confused why two people working on a case together might be speaking in a car together? That kind of writing, coupled with unwitty, stupid confrontations, is why I bailed. The writing style is tell don't show. It's not bad, just not very good.
I signed up for #Allhallowsreadswap hosted by @MaleficentBookDragon but must have messed something up with the google docs as I never received a notice. 😭 So sad watching y'all post about your packages but next year I will be smarter about the technology! To comfort myself, I took advantage of our library's random picks by genre service.

Redemption is the next book I need to read in this series.
Woohoo! This was an excellent "whodunit?" I was guessing right up until the end. This is one of David Baldacci's faster paced books and I really enjoyed it. Picture of my puppy for @StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego
🎧 Book 5 in the Memory Man series. One to go but I‘m giving it a break ... Mars makes a reappearance in this one. Decker is faced with the possibility that his first arrest was that of an innocent man. Strange repetition again but not necessarily a bad thing just noticed it. Good story. Well put together. A decent mystery/thriller. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Highly recommend. This is a story of Amos Decker, the man who has a perfect memory. Decker discovers that he accidentally sent an innocent man to jail. The story centers on the strange incidents that follow. Who is in the conspiracy? Loved this story.
I‘ve grown to love the Amos Decker series and this book enhances it!!! He is an imperfect man, almost crippled by grief and guilt. He‘s slowly building a life but his memory won‘t set him completely free. 💜💜💜

For some reason I didn‘t enjoy this Amos Decker book as much as the other books in the series. It was still a good read but just felt lacking something. Not helped as his recent main partner didn‘t play as big a part in this book, and I enjoy the interplay between them and as a result it was missing some of its usual humour.. Hopefully back to form in book 6.
Started listening to the latest book in the Amos Decker Series. This is a really good series, and are great as audiobooks.
"I had everything. A wife who I loved beyond anything I‘d ever felt before. And a daughter who I would have sacrificed anything for. Now I don‘t have either one."
"But you do have memories. Good ones."
"Yeah, I do. But it‘s not the same. Even for someone with a memory like mine. Memories don‘t keep you warm at night. And they don‘t make you laugh, not really.” He paused. “But they can make you cry.”
