The urge to WELL ACTUALLY some random man who I overheard say “there were 3 magic faraway tree books” while looking at this tree 🤐 the restraint! And on my birthday too 😂

Folio Society has me wavering on their eye wateringly expensive postage fee with this being announced so soon after Diana Wynne Jones‘ Charmed Life…
The #Enchanted Wood, the first in the series of The Magic Faraway Tree. One of my many favourite series when I was young, and I remember owning a copy of this exact edition, the 1971 Dean edition illustrations by Rene Cloke. Feeling nostalgic seeing this.🥰

This book seemed a lot more magical and adventurous when I was a young child. Still it was very nostalgic to go back and reread it as an adult. It was never a favourite of mine as a child, not like the wishing chair adventures, but it was still nice to revisit.
Good old Enid Blyton. 🥰
Be still my beating heart.
My girls are reading my childhood book The Enchanted Wood.
My 11 yr old had The Magic Faraway Tree read to her in grade Prep by her teacher but I haven't had the chance to read these to either of my girls.
It's my 7 yr olds 1st time with these stories so we thought we would start at the start with this one.
I'm so excited, especially that my 11 yr old is loving it too.
Can't wait to read more with them tomorrow night!
Such a sweet and adventurous tale which I shared with Miss 8 who doesn‘t normally have the focus to stick at a chapter book start to finish even if it‘s being read to her. I did have to wonder what on earth the parents were doing while their children stayed all night up a big tree with strange folk.
I‘m usually a big fan of classic children‘s literature, but this just didn‘t do much for me. It didn‘t seem exciting or adventurous, though it is billed as such. I understand nostalgia is a strong force when it comes to children‘s novels, but it didn‘t hold that for me either. I would recommend to young readers, though!
Happy Saturday! I‘m feeling nostalgic this morning - The Enchanted Wood with creamy cinnamon coffee in my favorite Disneyland mug 💜 This is my second read for the Seeking Tumnus podcast 🙃
20. BEST is the feeling when you've gotten up uncharacteristically early to go to a Sunday market and found the book that was missing from your Faraway Tree collection with the same cover artwork, that you've been searching years for... BEST = matching sets! #readathon #30daysofreadathon
#lyricalapril #madworld There are a number of mad worlds to be found at the top of the Magic Faraway Tree. Just love this series!
I grew up on Blyton books, and this one was probably my favorite, so when I saw this nearly-new copy in a used bookstore for $3 yesterday, I could not resist!
TBT. Enid Blyton books, particularly this one, turned me into a reader.
Reading this to my daughter. Her first proper novel. Dame Slap is now called Dame Snap, and that's a good thing.
