I wanted a change of pace from all of the non-fiction I have been reading recently & I was not disappointed. I found myself skimming through the middle, but the short chapters make it easy to pick up and set down, & the fast-paced story telling kept me guessing (incorrectly) until the end. I was skeptical at first that this would be your typical who-done-it story, but was delightfully surprised in the end. 3/5 stars.

If you enjoy an intimate glimpse into an unconventional childhood & a heroine who overcomes a number of life-changing external & conflicts, Westover‘s “Educated” is a must read. Westover‘s usage of diary entries to counter the memories she has does an excellent job of showing the complexities of human memory & how easy it is to edit painful memories as self-defense against traumatic incidents. 📖

I'm a day behind. #trw2017 Susan, Daisy, and Esther are my #womancrushwednesday pick this time. I love reading about this group of friends and their journey through university and early adulthood.

#WCW was a hard pick for me because I LOVE a well-written strong female character so I had a lot to choose from but I decided on an oldie (for me...in teen years). Rose is an awesome friend, a kick-ass fighter, and has a strong personal moral compass. She can be over/confident and she may not always make the best decisions but, in the end, she almost always puts herself and her feelings second. #TRW2017 #WomanCrushWednesday

#WomanCrushWednesday belongs to the amazing Leigh Bardugo! I'm obsessed with her Grishaverse. It contains the perfect combination of diverse and interesting characters and wondrous world-building. I highly recommend her books. If magic isn't your thing, maybe try her latest book 👇
