Just when I was thinking it was time to start hunting up holiday themed books, one showed up on my list. A real creep of a man is discovered dead just before Christmas. Everybody disliked him and, of course lies. The author managed to fool me on this one.

Loved it, I really like seeing where Eve and Roarke are at their marriage. In this book we get to see how crime doesn't care if it's Christmas, the crime was ruthless and violent and I like how all of Eve's team work with her. Ms Robb was flawless regarding consent and sexual violence against women and the men that abuse trust.

I love reading J D Robb books for the sassy, kick-ass characters and sarcastic banter, and the tribute to chosen family. I'm working my way (still) through the backlist. This one was just in time for the start of the holiday season.

It could have been worse, Eve supposed. She could have been attacked by flesh-eating cows.
