Another title from my book bundle from Arabelle Sicardi. Seems like a great resource living with/through hard times.

This is well laid out and easy to read. The last section has some breathing practices and mantras, which I‘ve not gotten to just yet.
If I‘m honest, I‘m not really in the right phase of my life right now where I can embody the philosophies in this book, but hopefully I come back to revisit it one day.
Thanks for the tag, @Letora!
1. I spent it hanging out with my mom, playing with my kitty, eating ramen, and reading Shakespeare, which is a pretty good start, I think. 😁
2. Ohhhh, man, that‘s a tough one, but I guess I‘ll go with No Mud, No Lotus by Thich Nhat Hanh. Runners-up: salt. by Nayyirah Waheed, The Upside of Stress by Kelly McGonigal, and The Great Passage by Shion Miura.

“The most effective way to show compassion to another is to listen, rather than talk."
Great book, simple to read, structured and concentrated. If you are interested in mindfulness, this book is a great start
In No Mud, No Lotus, Thich Nhat Hanh helps us recognize the wonders inside us and around us that we tend to take for granted and teaches us the art of happiness.
I loved this tiny book about understanding the nature of struggling/suffering and not allowing it to define you. Beautiful, applicable, helpful and real.
I am house (1), horse (2) and dog (3) sitting for my family and camped by the fireplace with my favorite Thich Nhat Hanh book to welcome the new year with peace and joy!
The only way to suffer well and be happy is to stay in touch with what is actually going on; in doing so, you will gain liberating insights into the true nature of suffering and of joy. #nomudnolotus #thictnhathanh
Relishing my peaceful, mindful summer break. A full breakfast every morning, hours of reading every day -- so grateful for these simple pleasures.
I overdid it yesterday getting my house ready and cooking for company coming over for Easter lunch. So, that means I have some time to sit outside with Lucy and read before I start today's cooking! #score #outsidereading #dogsoflitsy #om #ineedsomeom
Doing some #lunchtimereading today. About to start this one. Gotta love some TNH!
Looking forward to settling in for some introspection with #ThichNhatHanh - I need something to help stop the racing thoughts and unrealistic pace I've set for myself. #stoptoheal #resttoreleasetension
A wonderful book, short but very dense and thought provoking. Do we have a warped idea of what it really means to be happy? Can happiness exist even when in pain? Very beautifully written with plenty of wise insights and practical exercises to learn to find joy in the present moment regardless of circumstances. This is a book that I will hold on and come back to regularly.

"There are more conditions of happiness available than you and I can count, many more than it takes to make us happy in the here and the now. If you are able to read a book, to read and understand these words, you are already much luckier than many people."
True!
"Many of us slog through life without conscious awareness or intention. We set ourselves a course and we barrel ahead, without stopping to ask whether this path is fulfilling our most important goals. That's partly because many of us believe that happiness is not possible in the here and now. We think we need to struggle now so that we will be happy in the future."
?
Eating flautas and reading can be messy if not careful 😁
Getting some reading time before the work day starts!
"We fear that if we release our diversions and come back to ourselves, we'll be overwhelmed by the suffering, despair, anger and loneliness inside. So we continue to run away. But if we don't have the time and the willingness to take care of ourselves, how can we offer any genuine care to the people we love?"
"Then there is the suffering of the mind, including anxiety, jealousy, despair, fear and anger. We have the seeds, the potential in us for understanding, love, compassion, and insight, as well as the seeds of anger, hate, and greed. While we can't avoid all the suffering in life, we can suffer much less by not watering the seeds of suffering inside us"
A simple, but not necessarily light read. This book is best savored in small bits and pieces to let the messages root into your being. The theme is mostly about mindfulness with a little bit about breathing, meditation, and mantras. I am guessing I will be coming back to this book many more times.
I love this cover. Also, I'm probably going to run my highlighter out on this one.
