Until Tuesday
Until Tuesday | Luis Carlos Montalvn, Bret Witter
23 posts | 6 read | 4 to read
UNTIL TUESDAY is the story of how Tuesday, a service dog, helps to heal a shattered soldier. Luis Carlos Montalvn is a 17-year veteran and retired captain of the US Army. Even after suffering stab wounds, a traumatic brain injury and three broken vertebrae, Captain Luis chose to remain at his post on the Iraq-Syria border. In his mind, he had come this far, now wasn't the time to abandon his comrades. However, when Luis returned home, the pressures and injuries proved too much to bear. Physical disabilities, agoraphobia and crippling PTSD drove him to the brink of suicide. And that's when he met Tuesday. UNTIL TUESDAY entwines Luis' story of courage and bravery with that of his trusted dog, Tuesday, and shows how a brave soldier who fought tirelessly for his country, found a way back from the devastation of being injured in action, with the help of his canine friend.

A dog's love is so pure and unconditional, a fact that most of us as dog parents or simply dog lovers understand. Now imagine the same if the dog is a service dog, you feel like they're the ultimate noble creatures on heart. Now imagine being on the receiving end of a service dog's love and care, and you get the author who was able to bring back some sort of normalcy due to Tuesday, the big goofy dog pictured on the book's cover 🐕

1. The organization probably makes sense only to me, but it only needs to make sense to me. I know exactly what books I have and where they are!
2. I‘ve been doing a #tbrcull on Goodreads and got my list down to 615. I want to get it to 500. (I‘ve been doing the same to my watch list on IMDb.) Of course the best way to get books off your TBR list is to read them!
#TuesdayTidbits

SilversReviews LOL...exactly!! You “gotta read” them to make the TBR stack go down. 😊 Thanks for playing. 6y

1. The only series I have read and would re-read are the books by John Jakes. Not sure what the name of the series is, but if you are an older Litten, you will know what series I am referring to. 😍😍😍

2. Anything with sauce on it.

3. I like THE BIG BANG THEORY...I don‘t really watch too much TV.

4. I love all my Litten friends, but I will tag @Kaye 😍😍😍

2. Hmm probably Gone Girl or Fifty Shades of Grey
3. The Quiet Librarian 🤫

Thanks for the tag @tpixie !

BiblioTori Fifty Shades was such a cringe to read. Even more of a cringe to watch. My friends and I watch it to give bad commentary. 6y
EmilyChristine @OnlyMeJustT Ugh it was awful. I read it just so I could have an informed opinion. The story was terrible and the writing just as bad. 6y
BiblioTori @EmilyChristine I read it in high school because I wanted to be apart of the edgy hype and was so put off by how poorly written it was. People bashed it for being fan fiction originally- but I‘ve read some really well written fanfiction. 6y

Thanks for the tag @JoScho 1. I don‘t read a lot of scary/horror. I read a lot of thrillers though or just creepy. So idk. There was this short book Devotion that was pretty creepy. Or Shutter Island. 2. Again not big on the horror. Idk the one about the suicide forest. Or The Ring or the Blair Witch Project. I never really got past those.😂I‘m not very brave when it comes to horror movies. 3. Not sure. 4. @MiyakoBunny

"I happened upon a tree struck by lighting;
the aftermath of a wild and violent thing.
A tree split in half."

I am honored to have been able to hear this great man's life story. I enjoyed meeting him and making him chuckle. It breaks my heart that he is no longer with us. My life has been forever touched and changed by our meeting. May he live forever in this book.
